I have a 2018 Gen 2 with 91k miles, i just got it back from getting its third engine after the second one grenaded itself, and as i was driving on the highway in traffic at around 35mph it was in 7th and was jolting hard and it seemed like it didn’t want to downshift into a lower gear. and at idle it rattles hard and then raises the rpm’s and then it’s fine after that, it also takes a while for it to gain power even when the turbo is making boost.

first motor went out because of hard driving and was towing way over its max. The second one blew randomly didn’t show any signs of it being hurt, i’m thinking that it’s probably from towing a lot that hurt the trans but even before the 3rd motor the transmission has always been fine

Sounds like you’re using a performance 1/2 ton truck as a 3/4 ton diesel work truck & this is the end result, lots of people do towing/hauling w/ these w/o issue…..how much weight are we talking about & how often?

Were any of the engine replacements under warranty? I imagine yes or otherwise you’d have been much better off cutting ties w/ it & buying another?

I’d consider using some transmission fix fluid see if it helps or if tranny shifts better once warmed up & trade that thing in asap

i was towing my trophy truck on a 6000lb trailer but i realized when the first motor blew it was puffing out oil from the exhaust and the catalytic converter is clogged up with oil and it’s not letting any air get out so i went ahead and cut it off while i wait for a new exhaust to come and the truck has been working perfectly

I bet that’s been your issue on the last one too lol!! That’s crazy…how many miles?

I have a heavily modded vette & @ one point during its life after being supercharged for a bit it started running very rough- I had detailed the engine bay & powdercoated the coil brackets so I thought maybe one or more plugs/coils had a loose or no connection, or maybe bad gas…started seeing blue smoke out the FRONT of the car….i drove it very gently to my speed shop guy who was luckily very close & end result?

I opted to leave the ARH catted X pipe in place instead of swapping when I had blower installed, the “high-flow” ARH cats had bit the dust, both of em were cooked so bad they shot right outta their shells & were lodged/compacted into the exhaust piping so it was creating a shit load of back pressure had oil spewing from the front main seal & dip stick!!!!

now that car is breathing much better these days got a huge A&A air filter for their blower kit into a **** injected intake pipe then 1-7/8” ARH headers into a 3” to 2.5” fully catless X pipe/mids into a corsa extreme axleback. LOUD!!

Glad you found your fix!

This is why I delete cats on anything performance related.
