Really depends on how the dealer treats commodity items. Some don't like those orders to be at the top of their list, because if those get passed, then they loose that round of orders; i.e., if they have two guys waiting on Raptors and yours is first, neither gets pulled on the first round since yours was passed, and then by the next round maybe all the Raptors for the week are spoken for so that guy doesn't get his either. But if they swap the priority of the two the other guy may have a chance of getting his pulled. Other dealers don't seem to care and just leave their priority list alone.

Also it doesn't necessarily mean that they have no beadlocks at all, just that there aren't enough coming in for all the orders so they ration out however many per week. So maybe like only 25 trucks per week get beadlocks or something like that. I was told the same thing about my truck last year, but I told them to keep the beadlocks. Sure enough two weeks later it got pulled for production.

I hope I get to experience some of your luck. My issue will probably be because I ordered from a really small dealer with only one raptor allocation for the year.

Ordered June 13.
I picked up my 2018 Lead Foot SCAB on Tuesday August 15 and I love it!
That was a fast turn around compared to last year!
I'm joining the Lead Foot SCAB brotherhood - mine was built 8/12 and is currently going clickity-clack on a rail car till it hits Kansas City. ETA to dealer is week of 8/27.

I spoke with the Memphis region ford rep and Ford Performance two weeks ago. CF and BL are under commodity control. Ordered first week of June and got the email forwarded to me from my ford dealer two weeks ago that was sent to them from the rep. I could delete these options and have it built or continue waiting. I would pressure your dealers for more detailed answers if they are saying there isn't any delays. I personally don't have a vin, or projected build date.

My dealer is less than stellar with the sharing of the info on updates so I went around them and bugged FP on chat every Friday since I ordered. This time instead of "in processing" they told me my build week. I was surprised to hear they were scheduling builds out that deep in Sept. already but whatever. thats progress on my part.

I know my order had things like BL and CF so just I just casually asked if they knew of any delays on builds specs'd with those parts and they said none that they were aware of. I am guessing since I have a build week scheduled mine made it through that cut. If it makes any difference my truck is black. (I don't know if they do all of one color a week at a time or not.)

One thing I see with this ordering system is my dealer told me retail orders take priority over stock orders. What keeps random dealers from submitting all raptor orders as retail with a fake last name. Couldn't they just say they have a customer deposit but then conveniently stick the truck up on eBay as soon as it hits the lot?

This is happening a bunch I think. The first 18's that went public with retail pictures were all seen for sale on auto trader before anybody was able to take delivery on this site. My ford dealer had to send all personal information possible with my order just to get it accepted. I'm glad yours made the early cut though.

Can one track progress after the build date has come and gone? My build date was 8/17. Now how can I track to see if it's completed or shipped or what?

Thank you,

Thank you,

Ford Performance Chat can help you to a certain degree. However, your dealer (as FPC will tell you) is your best source for info. BUT, it depends on how forthcoming and INTELLIGENT your dealer is. My truck was built on 8/12. My last update, VIA Ford Performance Chat, was on 8/18. My truck was moving by rail through Michigan. I hope that means it was actually moving, not sitting at a rail head at DTP. FPC said my ETA to dealer (Central Kansas) was 8/27 through 9/2. FWIW

You're going to love it! I love the look of the scab, love the shorter wheelbase and it's actually pretty roomy in the back. Lead Foot is a beautiful color in person! It really looks good with the magnetic accents and the magnetic painted stock wheels. Looks like it's only taking around 2 weeks or little more to get delivered.

Just sitting here wondering why Ford doesn't have a webcam on the production line so I can spend my Sunday waiting to see my truck go by.
