It seems like a lot of you really want the pedestrian detection.

Is hitting pedestrians a problem for those who want it? Been driving for over 30 years. Haven't had a problem avoiding pedestrians yet.

Stupid argument is stupid. I want the latest and greatest tech on the vehicle I choose to purchase. In my mind, I was getting over not getting a '17 because the '18 was being improved on the tech front. But it seems not to be the case.

So now I sit here, having wasted 2 months with a **** stick dealer that cost me the opportunity to order a '17 (along with the free Raptor Assault school) to have an '18 order (also with Ruby Red being late availability) that is more expensive with minimal tech improvements and no free school. So a little pissed off about it.

Probably best to not have pre-collision on an off-road vehicle - would be very tricky for the software to handle and would likely result in a lot of false positive unintended braking.

I would hope one wouldn't be using cruise control off-road.

Who said anything about using cruise control off-road? Pre-collision Assist is a separate default-on safety feature that would be a liability off-road.

I guess I could have completely spelled it out for you, but I figured context clues would have helped you. Getting over=come to terms.

Also I said your argument was stupid, but your grasp of the written word is clearly lacking...so to answer your question, you obviously.

It reads as part of the ACC system. So I would assume they work in conjunction. So what is the default distance between you and an object in front of you before it starts to brake for you? Could get annoying in the long ass Starbucks drive-thru line.

Good catch. I was going off of what I saw in page 1 that showed the Technology Package and not the Raptor Technology Package. My mistake.

No worries. I was doing the same until it was pointed out to me.

They're separate software functions that get lumped together in the ordering guide because they use the same hardware suite.

Braking is based on a dynamic calculation using the measured distance and rate of closure between you and whatever obstacle it senses you're about to hit (user selects one of three sensitivity levels that influences which algorithm is used).

Is the starbucks joke still a thing?

Makes sense. I'll go out on a limb and say that system can be manually disabled or is disabled in the off-road modes. If it were actually part of the raptor which it appears it is not.

Maybe I am the stupid one. All I know is that I'm enjoying my new Raptor while you have your thumb in your ass waiting for some new tech that helps you avoid hitting people on the street and the new tech isnt even coming.

Are you in mensa?

I ordered a '17 (long story short it fell through) and am now waiting on my '18 order. But I have to empathize with the Gen1 owners, some of you Gen2 owners are straight ******* retarded. God help this forum,
