I haven't been into trucks very long. Someone please enlighten me why GM trucks are so bad? Their commercials always show how well engineered they are. Of course, their commercials will show that but I haven't seen a Ford or Dodge commercial showing the engineering behind them. Ford talks a lot about its ecoboost fuel economy and its sales numbers. So I'm curious where all this hate on GM trucks come from? It is understandable this being a FORD raptor forum and that GM was bailed out, but are their any other reasons?

they arent that bad.
they are decent trucks.

some have transmission problems, more so than fords and dodges, even my brothers 2010 needs a new trans, but overall they really arent that bad trucks. not the best, but not as bad as cleave is making them out to be.

Are we talking about GMC or Chevrolet in particular? Or both? I just like their commercials when they do tests comparing to other trucks. Seems pretty cool to me

That one sentence of what you wrote didn't say it, but the rest of your post did. I just like talking shit when it comes to the big 3, take it with a grain of salt and talk shit back, have fun, and debates are about facts and opinions, not feelings, so that's how I treat them

No, gm products aren't complete garbage if we wanna go to facts, but I've seen enough from them in my time working on cars, combined with the fact they sold themselves out to china, that I would never own a modern gm product, nor would I like to have to work on modern gm products anymore

I'm gonna have to agree with about everything cleave here is saying. If the new f150 looks as pictured here then I think its a huge improvement. Do I think the current design is the ugliest ever? No but it isn't all that attractive compared to previous models or other companies. GM makes a nice vehicle but they do lack certain qualities. They are a truck for someone who isn't going to work a truck very hard.
But back on topic I don't think this new f150 looks much like a dodge. The way the front end is shaped slightly yes but on the details? No. I love the redesign and would love to see it in a raptor configuration

Are you talking about when they had commercials about the miracle Allison transmission that can barely handle the stock output of their diesel engine, which has 25% less output than the ford and dodge diesels, who's transmissions can handle almost twice the output of their stock diesels?

For the record I can't stand Gm, I just have a guy that's been working for me whose lady is a sales manager with a Gm dealer so I like to help their family with sales as much as I can. Keeps me money on the table as well with his wife happy too. Main probs with Gm is their interiors are junk but the trucks made its fair share of profits for me thru the years. .
And for the record #2- I can show you what real work they have accomplished, not saying ill hire ya but come work for me. Lol, more assumptions I see here. Hauled many heavy loads, transformers, ect....Of course I can go on why I dislike Gm products. 2 main reasons to sum it up. Bail out and zero technology. All they do is throw the Vette motor in every "V-series" and charge out the ass for em.

FORD TRUCKs will always be in my lineup for sure regardless. Simply the best!

I'm not assuming the quality of their transmissions, the Allison trans starts slipping at 500 horsepower, which doesn't give them much room to wear before it will start slipping at stock power output, the ford transmission starts slipping at well over 800 horsepower , plenty of room for the transmission to wear, with how most people drive diesels, the trans will outlast the engine in a ford, the Allison will not, and even if you work the diesels like you're supposed to, the ford trans should last the life of the engine

I can't believe it but I actually agree with what 6.2 is saying. I do t like GMs but I've had one and never had any probls with it. Loved the engine and power. The interior wasn't as good quality as the Ford. At the time all Ford had was the 4.6 and 5.4 and the GM engines were much better, IMO. I still chose an F150 twice after that GM just because of comfort and interior quality. There is a reason Ford sells so many trucks, people just like them better. Fords product is better than GM but it's not complete junk.

I'm guessing that the new F-150 is going to take some or a lot of design queues from the Ford Atlas concept.
