Ordered Black Screw on June 16th,2013
Unscheduled Clean until yesterday
Dealer gave me build date of Aug 5th and delivery of Aug 20th.
Crazy excited to get this truck!! Researched this for 6 months before ordered so waiting feels like forever.
For those still unscheduled, have faith, can only imagine it will be worth the wait.

Awesome turnaround. Where are you located? I am also scheduled for 8/5 and wondering if we will have a similar ETA. Congrats!

No problem with supporting local business. I do as much as possible here. However, when it comes to limited production vehicles, I seek availability and then the best deal. I had to go to an out of state dealer on my last Raptor. My new raptor finally had the local dealer play ball.

System sucks, but Im not sure how you make it better for low volume dealers.

I appreciate your comments and am not trying to be an a**, but to me it is not about the dealer. It is about the customer. Customer orders should go before dealer stock orders, and should be built as soon as possible. As I understand it the term "clean" means there are no issues and it could be built as soon as someone schedules it. There appears to be no logic to the scheduling of customer orders. It is almost like someone throwing darts at a board to determine who gets their truck and who does not.

What business model would deliberately slow down sales to customers who have already paid their money and are simply waiting for delivery. How does that promote and increase sales?

Well anyway, thanks.

I completely agree with you. There are not too many industries where a customer can place a direct order and not get a reasonable estimate of receipt date. it seems that there are many on this site who have waited well beyond there expected 8-12 weeks.
Just because the vehicle is worth waiting for, doesn't make the system any better.

The main issue is that Ford has no guarantee that you're actually buying the vehicle. Between the time you order and its delivered there are 1000 reasons the dealer gets "stuck" with the vehicle once it actually arrives. Shady dealers would actually do this on purpose to get vehicles into stock and get more allocation. So while you're just looking to order the truck. It's actually the dealer buying it and moving it through their inventory. Since they are the buyer, they have to meet the allocation requirements.

Im just having this discussion to try and ease frustrations on the system the dealer business has created. I feel ya'lls pain with the wait and system. Going through my second order now. Once I understood the game it was less frustrating. However the dealer machine isn't going away anytime soon.

Hope it all works out!

Dates do not add up

I ordered my raptor july 1. I was told it would be delivered in 4 months, and it would be a 2013. That means a 2013 would be delivered in nov. Seems to me ford would be building 2014s by then.
