I have a 13 and has been having issues. It seems randomly, my transmission will shift or downshift and get "stuck" in 3rd or 5th gear. The speedometer goes to 0, my mileage goes to dashed, CEL and the wrench comes up. Eventually it may shift out of third, sometimes turning it off and back on will bring it out of it. Code pops up as Output shaft speed sensor, which is embedded into the lead frame as far as of can tell. Truck has had the recall on the 6r80 completed, and I am after the mileage on the warranty after the recall. Any ideas other than lead frame?

Thank you,

Is your battery / alternator / fuses ok? I always try to check if that's the culprit before moving on to something else.

For fuses, check the following:

On the engine fuse box:
  • Fuse #74 (Transmission Control Module) – 15A
  • Fuse #76 (Powertrain Control Module - PCM) – 20A
  • Fuse #13 (Ignition Coils / PCM) – 30A
  • Relay #5 (Transmission Range Sensor / Starter Relay)
Passenger fuse box:
  • Fuse #33 or #34 (PCM or Transmission Controls)
  • Fuse #22 (PCM Keep Alive Memory)
If all looks good then, I'd check:
- Transmission wiring harness
- Transmission fluid
- Trans-related ground connections

check the wire harness going to the transmission. most likely its damaged or has a bad connection. my truck did this. exposed wires ground out on the metal. im guessing you cant get into first manually and leaving from a stop, you are accelerating in 3rd gear. slower than shit sliding down a window in winter...... wrench light, airbag light, orm and hill descent fault, etc. everything lights up. if its not the wire harness, then it could be at the ecm on the paseenger side engine bay. the big 3 plugs, but thats a rarity unless moisture got into them.

Exactly what is happening, sometimes even stuck in 5th, which you can imagine taking off in fifth is even worse. I'll see if I can check the wiring harness out tomorrow

yeah, stuck in 5th at a stop is horribly slow. pretty sure you will find something in the wiring harness or connection at the trans
