Went and took a look at it yesterday and mechanically it seemed to be in good shape. I checked all of the things that were mentioned in this forum for a pre-purchase inspection, and it drove fine. My concern is that there were a number of cosmetic issues. The fender flares had significant pin-striping on them on all 4 corners, a few dents and dings and scratches in the paint, and some REALLY poor touch-up paint around the base of the topper. It has a Leer cap on it and someone went all the way around the base of it and globbed on paint. It's particularly bad on the tailgate above the door handle. The worst item in my mind was that there was a scratch in the nav screen that I would have to stare at all day every day. There were also some light surface rust issues around the rocker guard mounts and

Based on the cosmetic issues, do you think a 1-owner '13 SCREW with 72k miles on it is worth $40k? It is being sold by an independent dealer, and I pointed all of these things out to them. I think I'd require the screen to be replaced and the paint to be repaired properly to consider it at that price. Would love your thoughts!

Pass, if there is surface rust on the rockers, don't look any further, sounds like this one was beat on bad

I'd rather get a 2010 or 2011 that was taken care of for less money.

I'd pass too ... pricing seems high too. I nabbed a CPO for $39k, 60k miles on a 2013.

Pricing seems a little high. Surface rust on the rockers is not an indication of being beat most northern Raptors that have been driven in the winter will have some. I have taken care of mine but at 100k there is rust on the rockers and now it's starting on the cab corners. Oh joy of salty winters. Repairs could cost between 1500-5000 a side. I would continue to look and for a truck out of the southwest if I were looking for a Gen1 with little or no rust.
