1. Does anybody know a "decent" shop in the Northern Virginia that specializes in removing old moonroof hardware and installing new hardware? I have the new kit (rails, brackets, track, etc.) Glass, motor are OPK! I say "decent" because so far I heard that nobody wants to do this for less than $1K...! Hard to swallow!

Brown Mazda on US1 in Alexandria does it, but can’t tell you the price because they did mine under warranty (because Ourisman contracts out).
Also, you got off pretty easy here

when I lived around there, he as a go to guy with reasonable prices. A guy you could send your wife to and she wouldn’t get taken advantage of.

Try not to rile up clever girl and murder she wrote going forward. they can get pretty ornery.
