Nope, it you want the cam, you gotta do 801a

I think you misread his thread. He said he had the 801A . He wants to know if he can just add the front camera.

I dont know. Haven't looked into it. Besides, the camera only operates in 4L, and it wouldn't do me much good.

What would be cool is to put a low light or IR camera in the front grill and tie it into the NAV screen for some cool night driving.

My bad, I thought you were trying to build one with cam without package.

It's definitely possible to add, not sure how cost effective it will be after the fact though.

I found the control box the camera for about 400 dollars. Looks like it's all plug and play under the hood. Wierd I think I have the only one built like this. The aftermarket camera that goes into a rca input seems much more cost effective and allows me to turn on anytime

Dont forget about the programming. You may have the plugs for it however even after installing everything you need to tell the navi unit to look for it all. This is where the programming AS-Built data comes into play

Ya the dealer said they could add it for me if I want. I think it was a cool option but not something I would use really. I think I will go with the aftermarket one with the lock pick. It looks stock.
