2012 Steering rack needs replacing…Ford says part is obsolete

Do you know of any places that rebuild them? I’m expecting mine to fail any day now and didn’t know that it was discontinued. FYI mine started acting up around the 60-70k range and now I’m at 231k. Talk about milking it.

Sorry for the late reply brother, been a usy few weeks. If you have the room, pick up a rack from a wreckers, and have it serviced by a rack rebuild shop. Thats what I did sans the spare rack as I am a citiot. Any rack repair specialist should be able to cover it with no issues, I have a guy up here but it def isnt worth shipping it to Canada to have it done. Your ford dealer should have a shop that can do em for other vehicles with discontinued parts

I tried looking a bit over the weekend for rebuild kits and any information on the rack itself. Trying to get an idea of what it will take to rebuild mine when the time comes.

Idk what wheels base you have, but i think at that price id find someone to rebuild it lol

I know it's been said but I would take that and RUN!
