Truck must be locked for remote start to work. Press start button once and hold longer on second press.
Better get the key now, before you lose the only one you have. I just got my 2012 three weeks ago and it only came with one key (dealer probably tossed spare key in a drawer to sell a second key). They quoted $200 for new key and $200 to program it. I said I'll pass.
Read that you can program new key yourself. Got compatible key off Amazon or eBay (actually both I think). $25. Then found out it takes a minimum of two working keys to program third key yourself. Off course!
Took key to dealer to get programmed. They said it may or may not wor, and if not I would have to buy their magical $200 key. Right! Called me 3 hours later said they couldn't get it to work. Sure! They said I'd still have to pay the $200 fee for them attempting to program it, or I could pay $200 more for their key. Bent me over for $400. They programmed their magic key in less than 2 minutes. Told me when I made the appointment that it would take 1.5 - 2 hours. What a scam!
Sooooooooo......... I take my sore rear end home with my new $400 oem key. I figure I may as well try programming my $25 key, what the heck. So??? 90 seconds later I have 3 working keys! STILL not happy about getting taken for $400.
