Question, how do i figure out the build date? I ordered 2 weeks ago, how do they get a build date & when does it usually happen?

You won't get a build date until you get a VIN, seem's like Ford is upping production and orders aren't taking as long as some of the early builds.

yes, your dealer can go to their inventory manager and let you know about when it will get built. I placed my order Oct 14, 2011. It just got to the rail yard by the dealer today. enjoy the wait.

Ordered 12-16-11, built 2-20-12, got the keys on 2-27-12.

Wow, that was fast!

The huge variability in order times is frustrating, to say the least. I ordered Dec 7th, and I still have not been scheduled. Dealer says hopefully by end of month, and I will probably receive truck in June.

FORD, if you are listening... I am no business genius, but if you have a 5 month backlog on $50K trucks with high margins, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

I think the dealer makes a difference with delivery times. They only get so many allocations per quarter. My dealer hadn't used any allocations (but he only gets two a quarter I think.) And then there is a priority code that they put on the order. That seems to make a difference. Maybe the more money down the higher the priority? And I live about 15 miles from the factory so that helped.

My brother works at Ford so he helped me track it.

It's a nice truck. I'm looking forward to spending some time with it tomorrow. Driving it to work and back has been a bit of a tease.

Oh yeah, the plant was running 24/7. I didn't see too many raptors the day mine was built though.

I ordered mine back in late October and I am still waiting on my VIN, not to mention production and delivery. So good luck with going from order to delivery in a month. Then again maybe you will be one of the lucky ones that doesn't have to wait 5+ months.
