I ordered my truck 0n 09-02-11 and still do not have a vin#. I have checked with the dealer and with Ford and the order is still in processing. Now I am told by the dealer that Ford wants to "verify" that the Raptors they have on order (there are 4) are really retail orders for customers.

I have contacted Ford about this asking if this is the hold up how do I verify that I ordered the truck and get the order moving. Ford gives me a vague reply and totally avoids the verification issue saying to talk to my dealer. Has anyone had to "verify" with Ford that they actually ordered their truck?

I had heard that some dealers were playing games with their retail orders so Ford was auditing that, but don't see why I should be caught in the middle of any of that. Anyone heard of this?

I had the exact same problem. I also ordered on Sep 2nd. I "verified" my order by threatening to cancell the order with SVT, Customer care and the Dealer unless it was pulled by Dec. 23rd. I got a build date and VIN that week, 2 days before the threatened cancell date. In other words, MAKE SOME NOISE. Ford's order system sucks balls and they are pissing a lot of people off.

Sounds like your wait is nearly over...Mine began Jan 4th, ordered a 12 Scab but do not think I will have to wait too long-locked in a deal that included trading in my 11 Raptor Scab and I get to keep the 11 until the new one arrives! Looking forward to the cooled seats more than the Torsen or front camera...ARIZONA DESERT
