2011 Blue, Extended cab hunt No Sun Roof.

Any other ideas on where to find a raptor at a good price other than cars.com, autotrader.com and craigslist.

I have a sales friend checking the auction as well. Other ideas I might have missed?

Wife gave me a 38,000 budget.

Yes I know that is a harder option setup to find.

searchtempest.com for mass craigslist searching (actually looks like they also do autotempest...no clue which works better in this case).

Any reason you're excluding '10s or even '12s? '11 does have the higher-tech instrument cluster, HD FM radio, power inverter, and other misc improvements like that...but if I were shopping for a specific truck used I'd give all that crap up in a heartbeat if I saw a '10 I liked. Especially given that the center screen is kind of half-assed...they could have done so much with it, but aside from the "offroad" angles screen it's doesn't really do anything more than the one line LED display in my '04 Sierra.

There may be more '10s available, given that the supercab was the ONLY configuration available. I don't know the exact numbers, but I think roughly half or more had the 6.2L.

In any case, good luck!

Forgot about the select-shift. Is somewhat nice to have, albeit wish it was a bit more responsive. My brother was distinctly unimpressed with it, but he was coming from an E60 M5 SMG, which was ever-so-slightly more responsive.

Good choice on the 11. Best combo of features and doesn't have the torsion diff. I have it on my 13 and would gladly give it up for the ability to have my icon's cranked up another inch.

Best of luck in your search!

I have 2 BMW's and one is a SMG. My SMG car is modified to race spec so I am used to "instant" shift but know raptor will be slower. I saw 5 star has a program upgrade for shift points to help the shifts.

I assume form the googling I have done there is no shifting upgrades yet? IE faster?

I remember back in the day on some auto trans you could increase shift speed by changing the filter screen. So far I have not found anything to increase the shift speed of the raptor transmission.

Location would have a big impact on your search......here in the pacific NW $38k buys you nothing......not even a 2010 5.4 base scab.

$38,000 is trade in value on my 2010 with 37,000 miles. No nav, no sunroof. You'll have to find a high mileage base 2011 to get the $38,000 mark. The select shift isn't all it's cracked up to be. Especially coming off a modded SMG. I have a feeling you'll be disappointed. You might have better luck with a 2010.
