I was hoping to have the '17 Raptor I ordered arrive before I hit 200,000 miles in the '11. Looks like It'll be at least 1 more oil change before I see the '17.[/QUOTT
That's awesome. I am creeping up on 140k and that is the most I have ever put on a truck. I wouldn't be if my damn new one would show up. Great records and pretty good news on the truck being so solid. I just had to do a transmission in mine. 4th gear was slamming going up and down. otherwise mine has been pretty good. tires, brakes, shocks, and a steering issue and the HVAC dual door.
I updated my list to include maintenance related mods. I was concerned about the transmission operating temperature. I have no idea if the mods factor into the longevity of the transmission: but early on I installed:
o 2nd (Factory) transmission cooler in line with the original.
o deep and drain-able transmission pan
o firewall mounted dip-stick/filler tube, as the 6R80 filler is a scar burner.
TIMELINE on the 2017 Raptor:
o Oct 2015: $1 deposit placed with my local dealer.
o July 2016: 1st phone call from dealer: Needed my color/cab/options.
o Oct 2016: 2nd phone call from dealer: Your Raptor was built this week.
o Currently: Awaiting the "We need you to pick up your truck" call.
