I’ve been getting a lot more info on this.

This has tremendous potential in getting rid of the crappy sync system.... it will also support Apple play.

The work around for Sirius is to use HUM ODB WiFi hotspot, 4G and stream your satellite in higher quality and also have data for movies, video - streaming music and other navigation like Waze.

You lose two things. Voice button on the steering wheel and the ford pass app with WiFi remote start.

That can be fixed with an aftermarket kit and app.

Very promising.

Not being able to tell Alexa to start my truck while I am getting ready for work is a deal breaker for me.. Next thing you'll want me to give up is my Grande Hazelnut no-foam latte. Savage.

Are you sure about Carplay? I’d be shocked. Maybe android auto.

I plan to get it. Apple play is 30-60 days away as a module and further... they are adding a 3 button bezel for the raptor.

I’ll do it at the same time I go with a processor and amplifier. Should be a nice sleek setup.

Linkswell is where it’s at for this right now.

There are a number of knockoffs, but they are going to great length to troubleshoot and produce a product that works, trouble-free, and comes with a warranty.

I have been asking a lot of questions and getting a lot of feedback from them.

The two main things you’ll need to do with this system is get yourself a hotspot for your truck. Hum makes an ODB hotspot with 4G unlimited through Verizon....

And you’ll want to get an aftermarket remote start with a phone application because you are going to lose that. So you may want to do something more complete like with an alarm system upgrade so you can app control doors windows remote start location etc.

So there are workarounds for the components not including with the new head unit.

This should be ready for prime time in the next 6 weeks with Apple car play and full functionality... like I said... minus the Sirius tuner and minus the voice activation. Also...

Have to do a different aftermarket setup to achieve the Ford Pass Functions of remote start app and lock unlock

Future options like this and beyond could make buying an 800A truck a good value. Still the extra hassles that make this more a pita to do easy daily things and less reliable imo than our OE systems... but its a trade off to get more functionality. The $9k savings from 802a pkg make this a good option for those on budget

If i fell into that group, id wait until all functionality was official, we all know how "weeks" can turn into months/years with some of these type of features.
