That's a possibility. The only thing I could come up with was maybe they had the fuse out during install, and managed to mangle it up like that during reinstall. It's not actually blown, it's bent up real bad lol
Long story short, the place I bought my truck from replaced the blend door(s) on my truck and managed to break the hvac control panel. I couldn't control the hvac from the screen either, nav is dead, and heat has been stuck on.
They got me a replacement hvac panel, and I went to put it in...
Black is my favorite color for cars and is always what I go for. Yet here I am with all my "pull me over red" stuff lol
Fixed my tach needle (didn't work because it was already broke) but idc, those 3 bright red led's aren't blinding me anymore haha. Then pulled tires to inspect iwe's struts...
Good call, I'll look into those then. And the vacuum lines that go along with them and just replace everything
And that would be awesome man. I'm actually about 20min north of Akron myself
Pretty sure my sending unit is iffy. Sometimes it drops like a rock and DTE with it. Then next time I get in both DTE and fuel gage are back up. I just use the screen that shows gallons used. It's been pretty spot on
Current update:
It's been an interesting first month or 2 with this thing lol. It's been showing all the reasons why I hate buying things used, but for what I paid, I did buy it expecting to have to put money into it.
The rattle issue has been found. Enough searching here and youtube I managed...
Yeah I think that's exactly what I'm going to do. Truck seems to like the higher octane fuel. I've never had a vehicle gain mpg between grades (non boosted of course). I was averaging 12.4-12.5 on 87 and currently at 13.2-13.3 on 89 haha. Not a crazy amount but still, noticeable difference...
Just an update:
Weather was finally decent enough for me to go out to the garage and work. While doing fuse 27 last night, I decided to pull 2 random plugs and check them over. Pulled one on the top of driver side, and one from bottom on passenger side. They both looked damn near new, and both...
I went with a gen 1 for nostalgic purposes - I've always always wanted one - and, it was significantly cheaper than any gen 2 near me. Going from a 2019 f250 6.7 back to a 13 was definitely a change, but financially I'm much happier. And I've grown to really like the old man feel of it. The 6.2...
Ignoring the fight above, lmao, as someone who's been around high hp mustangs since the 6r80 was introduced, they're solid transmissions up to around the 600 torque range in mustangs. Yes, there are plenty with more but it's probably not going to be as reliable. I'd have to imagine that a...
I took a picture of mine when I got to work haha. It's far from a perfect example of a gen Juan and needs a fair bit of loving, but dam does it look good
Totally understand all sides of this. If I wasn't the "car person" I am, no way I'd continue. Weirdly enough, the thought of pulling the transmission doesn't phase me at all.
One thing at a time tho. I can see the original owner cared about the truck based on the car fax dealer service...
Man this forum is great. Thanks again for responses. Definitely should wipe transmission and see if it repeats
As for heat shields, I checked manifolds and cats but not drive shaft. That's a good place to look
I pulled these codes today on my cheap little Amazon code reader btw. Which now...
Wife just got off the phone with the dealer and they want us to bring it in next week when we're off to look at it. She said the guy sounded concerned which is good. We'll see what happens lol. I'm still going to check the fluid level tho
Appreciate the responses guys. I actually went to check the transmission fluid level last night but totally forgot it's under that plug. Was looking like a fool searching for a dipstick in the engine bay hahaha. I'll hop under after work and check the level warm
As far as dealer return policy...
Well, didn't take long for me to notice issues with my new-to-me gen 1 lol. It started to develop what I can best describe as a "rattle" from under the truck somewhere. Sounds like something metallic being rattled around by the exhaust gas/vibration. It's only under acceleration - not at idle...
