Sounds like a wiring problem replacing the BCM isn’t gonna fix anything. First verify you have a healthy battery, go through check all your fuses. Thoroughly! Don’t assume it’s good. Check your door sail area wiring verify there isn’t anything loose or wires chewed up look for signs of it in the...
In case anyone wonders why techs tell people to not follow your oil change minders. Here’s my 64k miles on OG phasers. Replaced my valve cover due to a crack in the front area. Oil has been changed every 5k with Full synthetic.
Something I do to keep the mess down is use a fluid extraction tool like the mighty vac I have two. One for clean Transmission fluid only and the other for extraction of dirty fluid. Get a long enough tube go through the wheel well and remove the dipstick slide the tube in, and sucky sucky till...
I did all mine including the grille with Morimoto kit. I posted some tips on my instagram about doing the grille. Absolutely no power tools on the grille or ratchets finger tight and you can always do black hot glue to make the lights more rigid. Or if the stud breaks.
It’s your responsibility to be educated on your cars warranty everything is there for you to call them on BS diagnostics fees. If you bring your vehicle in be cause something isn’t legitimately wrong. You shouldn’t be suprised about paying for the techs time. Some of us work hard and spend years...
There’s not a one size fits all for dealership experience. So for some of you to mis lead people with a bunch of garbage. That is just dis tasteful, unfortunately as a Ford technician a lot of the ball dropping is done by inexperienced Advisors. Not caring to note or listen to a customer. I’ve...
The Hubs holding vacuum disengages the shaft ends when you loose vacuum it will engage the ends. Make sure your testing the correct position on the IWE and when applying vacuum see if it stays steady and also on jack stands spin the wheel while it’s holding Vacuum see if it changes.
You will need a compressor and takes a bit of time. As a tech I typically use this on my front Diff service. Doing it in 70+ weather helps it go faster. I run Amsoil 75w90 and get the bags so it helps filling. Here’s also a link showing me doing it on my old F-150 if you wanna get fancy get a...
It is and isn’t you can’t just remove the fuse to stop communication. It will cause a lot of other issues. Best thing I can suggest is find a way to block any outside signal from connecting to your vehicle and turn off all auto updates and do not connect to home WiFi. I tried to snap a...
Unfortunately things are not as easy as you think. Once a certain data set is corrupted it can interrupt communication on the CAN network honestly, as a tech I am not a fan of OTA for these reasons. My theory is Updates should only be applied with a wired connection to the vehicle.
Sorry about your luck with the update. I run the mobile service division for the Ford dealership that I work at and I was at a customers house updating the PCM on someone’s vehicle and was not aware that Ford servers had went down in the middle of the update and ended up bricking a customers car...
Is your truck tuned? Any sort of Forscan mods? These will create issues with OTA- Over the Air updates. Definitely turn auto updates off if your planning on running a tune or any Forscan mods.
I can pull it. $20 I’ll give you full warranty history and current open FSA information $40 for one time Workshop Manual instruction for a particular project.
I will at some point. There’s no rattle at the moment on start up. Previous owner was very good on maintenance. He did everything at my dealership, I’ll do the updated phasers and chains and guides etc at some point. My first order of business is gonna be lights. Eventually Goosetune stage 2 my...
Hey guys, finally got my first Raptor!! I’ve been a Ford Tech since 2008, as a kid I always loved them! I got a smoking deal on a trade in that was pampered and garaged kept by an older gentleman. I am looking forward to hopefully doing tasteful mods and hopefully doing a Raptor run with my wife...
