I was really concerned with 90k miles as Ford change interval tops out at 100k and all the Internet advice says Ecoboosts are hard on plugs. Looking at the plugs in this thread I don't know how anyone can conclude that the plug life is much different from most other engines.

Thanks Joe, Great information, I really appreciate it! This gives me a lot to think about. I might start with changing fuel stations for a couple of tanks if the code comes back to eliminate that as a possibility. Rockauto doesn't list any OE cats so not sure what brand people would recommend.

Update - I was able to get Sync updated to the latest Ford approved software. It seems the difference maker was the flash drive I was using. The flash drive I used originally was unlabeled. I took a shot and bought a SanDisk brand flash drive to see if the Sync was that finnicky. Same formatting...
