Can anyone provide the official procedure for checking the transmission fluid level on a Gen 3? I cannot find anything on this topic in the over 740 page owner's manual.
So far this is what I have been able to find in another F150 on-line forum:
"It needs to be between 5-6 at operating...
The maintenance schedule calls to "Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings". I don't see any grease fittings on my Gen 3 but figured I'd ask if there are any in case I am missing something.
Thanks
Excellent choice. Having respected the tow rating of your Raptor I think you will be very pleased towing with it.
I use an Andersen WD hitch and AirLift 1000 bags on my Gen 3 to reduce the squat and am very pleased with both of these products. Andersen hitch also does well at providing sway...
Bags completely eliminate the squat.
With the recommended 5psi in the bags with no added load on the truck it feels the same to me as it did prior to installing the bags. This comment is based on street driving and modest dirt roads. I do not do any extreme off road driving so can’t comment on...
My foot is still on the accelerator but steady state. Speed between 10 and 40 mph. I'll have to try it while letting off the accelerator to see if there is any difference.
When I shift my 2022 EB Raptor from 2H to either 4A or 4H on the fly I hear a clunk sound as it engages. Just one clunk and it seems fine but I would expect it to not make any noise. Is this clunk sound normal?
My installer told me no wires would be cut. My understanding is that the insulation was stripped on some wires and the IGLA was spliced in. I could be wrong on this.
I hear ya on that and did wrestle with this point when deciding whether to install IGLA or not. I know Ravelco is more straight forward but did not like the idea of physically cutting wires. With the IGLA no wires were cut for the install and it's only a few connections where it ties into the...
Any functionality issues with your IGLA? On my 2022, the truck does not shut down when you shift into gear after remote starting about 95% of the time. When it lets you put it in gear and drive away the headlights flicker and the headlamp setting comes on and off on the instrument panel. It...
I use a single fill valve for both bags. Made up a simple little bracket that I located to the left of the left rear tow hook. Held in place with existing bolt. Since I want both bags to be at equal pressure saw no need for two fill valves. If two fill valves are desired this could be...
Yes the red bag within the coils rated for 1000 pounds.
On a side note, I now inflate to 27 psi before hooking up the trailer based on info provided by others that it is recommended to pre-inflate before loading per Airlift. However, I've noticed no benefit over hooking up before inflating to...
I posted a similar question some months back and got a couple of useless replies. Glad to see you got some good info.
The video shows having to remove the plastic tread plate. Based on your experience would it be possible to access the necessary bolts without removing it?
Seems crazy that we...
I'll bite too but everything I say here and then some is in several other threads.
2022 Gen 3 with 1214# payload
Andersen WD hitch (6 threads showing)
Air Lift 1000 bags (27 psi)
2023 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108DSFLX camper
7' wide, 10' 3" tall, 22' 6" total length
Around 5,000# depending on...
The higher the rear axle ratio is numerically the better for towing. Max tow package highest ratio is 3.73, Raptor has 4.11. However, Raptor higher gear ratio is mainly to offset the effect of the larger diameter tires so it doesn't feel slow off the line. When the larger diameter Raptor...
After seeing some info on how easily modern cars with touch entry and push button start can be stolen using a code repeater I don't want to park my Raptor anywhere out in public. As a short term solution while I research anti theft options I have pulled the battery from my key fob. I use the...
As you look at RV's keep in mind that one with dual axles will track better than one with a single axle. In addition to length consider height as a taller trailer will have more side surface area than a shorter trailer of the same length. Plus a higher trailer center of gravity can make it...
My understanding is that our Raptors have the same brakes as the standard F150 which has much higher payload and towing ratings so not really seeing why they need to be upgraded for towing. From what I can find quickly I don't see any upgraded brakes listed for any of the tow packages on the...
My gut says you're gonna do a lot of mods to your Raptor and get overly confident in its ability to tow. You'll buy an RV that is the size you want only to find you don't like the way your modified Raptor tows.
Based on my experience with a Gen 3 so not exactly apples to apples, I'd say shop...
K9 EXPERT - Congrats on the new tow vehicle. Having the Raptor for fun and the Lariat for towing sounds like a great combo. Out of curiosity, do you recall what the payload sticker said for the Lariat? Also wondering what engine you're getting in the Lariat? Wish you the best of luck with it.
IMO the low payload ratings on our Raptors are due to the soft rear suspension as that is the main difference between a Raptor and all other F150s. You can do things to to firm it up and remove the sag but anything you do WILL NOT increase the payload rating. I run the Air Lift 1000 bags on my...
If you want to stay within the ratings of your truck this camper probably won't be possible. To avoid trailer sway you need 10-15% of the total trailer weight on the ball. For this trailer dry that starts you out with 676# on the hitch. Think Winnebago quotes the dry tongue weight as 674#...
The payload rating on the yellow sticker in the door jamb includes all operating fluids (including a full tank of gas) and all factory installed options. It does not include passengers, cargo, and aftermarket equipment.
I couldn't agree more that the Raptor is a fun truck but it can do some...
