So I decided to just have the shop do it. After adding up the cost of parts, fluids, and tools that I'll only use once it came within $300 of what the shop quoted me. I figured $300 was worth the piece of mind of having it done right. It goes in on Monday.
Sounds like you just press (not hold) the OK button and it will go away.

Money isn't too much of an issue on this job, it's more that I enjoy mechanic work and learning something new which is why I am considering giving it a shot. We've also got 2 other cars so if it sits for a month while I figure things out, so be it.
I'm in the same mindset that you brought up...
My Raptor has had a loud hum/howl going on for a few weeks now. Took it into the dealer today to get it diagnosed and they suspect the pinion bearings have gone out. They drained the rear end and found glitter in the fluid.
The dealer quoted me $2600 to replace. I found a local shop that quoted...
What is everyone running for hard-mounted radios? I have been researching for 3 days and have come out more confused than when I started.
I have my eye on the Rugged Radio RDM-DB since it is on clearance, but I'm not sure if it will fit my needs. Rugged also offers a no-drill center console...
I ended up going with only one middle support. I've jumped it twice since then and have put on around 5,000 miles of hammering on the bump stops with both off-road use and towing with no issues. Honestly you probably don't need the middle supports. The kit is built pretty beefy as it is.
Out of curiosity, how much wind noise did this add inside the cab when you had it on? I've been thinking about getting one but have been worried about it sounding like there's a window open while on the highway.
Went to do a brake job on the Raptor last night and noticed the top of my shock body is rubbing on my coil.
This is a brand new shock and used Geiser coil that was installed (by me) about 1,500 miles ago. Set on Midperch. Passenger side is fine, seems that only the driver side is having this...
Sorry for the delay, it has been a busy week! Got an alignment on Tuesday ($140... Holy cow!) and the truck has been performing well. I'm not sure how much the truck lifted from stock but it's very noticeable just looking at it in person. The Deavers have been blowing me away! I'm still getting...
Had a busy Saturday. Installed Deavers, Icon Bumps, 4 shocks all around, and Geisers. All done by myself in one day.
My toolbox and all parts loaded up in my trailer, heading to my friend's garage. Notice my 4x4 jack extension on the right needing to be cut up.
Hit 111,111 on the way up...
I ended up grabbing the ICON kit, I'm excited to see how it goes.
I'd like to come back to this. Is this just an issue with the +3's or will the exhaust hit on the +2's as well? I've tried searching around the forum but I'm not having much luck so far.
I'm also curious to know if you get any...
I have a couple of reasons for this.
First off, this exhaust is only a few months old and I'm simply not ready to chop it up yet. I also love that there is ZERO drone, it sounds completely stock when highway cruising. That's something I am worried I will lose with a axle dump or before the...
Correct. I was considering this but I wasn't sure if both sides were dependent on each other, like if they pushed on each other in some way. Thanks for the input!
This is the first I've heard of this and I've been researching Deavers for few weeks now. I plan on ordering some up this month...
I've got a lead on a brand new in-box ICON rear bump kit for $1,000. Seems like too good of a deal to pass up.
I was ready to pull the trigger when I learned that it will not work with my Corsa Extreme exhaust. I started looking at other kits and noticed that the ICON is the only one with the...
Truck is at 110,000 miles now so I did a full 100k maintenance over the weekend including:
- Front diff flush
- Rear diff flush
- Transfer case flush
- Coolant flush
- Oil change
- All spark plugs
- Tire rotation
When I say flush I really mean a drain and refill.
Before I bought it it was a...
I find it interesting that you used the Live-valve shocks. I assumed that this mod had to be done with the dummy GEN2 shocks. Do you find them to be too firm?
@Pacific Wheel is the only other member I have found so far that has done this mod and I was looking for a few more opinions before I...
My intentions with the GEN2 rear shocks were a bang-for-the-buck upgrade without going all out. I'm not really looking for any more suspension travel, just a more controlled ride in the back end paired with Deavers.
From what I understand the KHC brackets lift the rear shock mount up, fixing...
I've found lots of threads on doing this mod but hardly any saying if it's worth it or not.
My stock shocks are due for a rebuild and I'm looking at doing the KHC Rear Shock Conversion Bracket mod. Keeping the fronts stock. Is it worth the extra ~$400 to run the GEN2 rears over the GEN1? That's...
About to make some Rock Auto purchases, figured I'd ask here first.
Looking for new or like new:
- GEN1 front shocks
- GEN2 dumb/non live valve rear shocks
GEN1 Deavers - For the right price I'm willing to drive 8 hours or so from Helena, MT to pick these up. To roughly Seattle, Salt Lake...
Oh man, this is intriguing, and a lot to digest. Going this route is there anything else that is required to make it work other than the KHC mount and the new shocks? After some light research I see that they don't compress as much as stock but I'm assuming the bracket takes care of that issue...
Thanks for the picture, that helps. Doesn't look bad but it's definitely noticeable. I'm afraid of going mid with the Geisers and having the ride too rough on the street.
With the stock shocks there is pretty much no benefit to going +3 with a shackle over +2 right? Stock shock will still limit...
Hey guys,
I've been doing some research the past couple of days through the forums and I'm left with a few questions. I plan on doing Deavers, shocks, and Geisers. 2014 SCAB
- With Geisers on low perch, should I go +2 or +3 on the Deavers? or +3 with a shackle? If I go +3 will there be a rake...
