    I think the bottom spacer is designed to protect the air bag from the sharp protrusions only and has nothing to do with off roading or anything else

    no, mine is also an 3.5 ecoboost , the only one available for Gen 3, but sometimes they make small changes, that is why I am not sure if your housing is the same as mine and if it is the same your dealer might have had it in stock. Thanks anyway

    According to my dealer the housing is on national back order and Ford knows about the problem. 109k mi ? I’m assuming you have a Gen 2. Maybe the thermostat housing is different, Idk.
