Painted surfaces should be fine. I've seen reports of the paint chipping off of the Gen 3 flares, but if that happens the ceramic coating will go with it.
I spoke to the shop that did it. The owner is really nice. He told me to bring it in, and they’ll fix it or replace it. He said it looks like their polish. It must have gotten into the plastics.
Oh. Interesting. I had my truck ceramic coated, but I don't know if they did the plastics. I'll find out. Did you try restoring the plastic with something like cerakote? If so, how long did it last?
My truck is less than a year old. It's hard to believe the plastic would already start getting sunbleached. Has anyone else noticed these on their plastics?
Ah! Nope. I found that here: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/pictures/2021-ford-f-150-raptor-first-drive. I tried posting a direct link to the image, but it wasn’t posting right, so I just copied it and pasted it into the reply field.
I did it myself. Here is the link to the kit I used: https://www.dipyourcar.com/collections/wheel-kits-by-color/products/shadow-black-hyperdip-wheel-kit?variant=5630996356
I definitely recommend watching the instructional videos as HyperDip is a different formula than PlastiDip and will need to...
After owning mine for a couple of months, here are my thoughts on his list:
1. Fit and finish.
I 100% agree with this. I would expect more QC to have gone into a vehicle that costs as much as it does. That being said, it has zero impact on how much I enjoy the vehicle. Besides a stitch poking...
My first vehicle was a 1974 Ford Pinto. It came free with a flatbed trailer we bought for $50. The guy told us that we could only take the trailer if we took the car that was on it. It topped out at a whopping 45mph, and it took about 30 seconds to accelerate to that speed. It had AM radio only...
Those definitely happen, but they're easy to work through. During the times I mentioned above, nothing would get them to connect. I toggled BT, toggled WIFI, restarted the truck, and restarted the phone. The only thing that works is unpairing and repairing them.
Move over, old man! Us kids are taking over now.
In all seriousness, I like the tech in the truck for the most part (am kid), but I even have some complaints.
I can't say that my Wireless Carplay experience has gone as smoothly as @NJ2020. There have been a few occasions where it just...
I actually like that they removed all of the phone buttons and now only have the single button for Sync/ Siri/ Google Assistant. I only ever used that one anyway. Just hold the button down for a second to use Siri/ Google Assistant and tell it what I want. I can't speak for Android Auto, but...
