@dillard09 @CoronaRaptor after what seemed an eternity, finally got her back. All bearings and pinions were replaced. Didn’t get a copy of the work order but I was there when my differential was completely stripped. Broke her right in by going straight to Baja mode. No more weird noises ✊
That’s a good question, I would hope all of them? Once I go pick her up I’ll see on the work order what was done. Thank you guys, honestly had it not been for your input I would’ve probably continued driving it. Looks like I dodged major damage
Hey guys, I have this strange noise coming from the back end that gets progressively louder as I pick up speed. I changed out the rear pads In hopes that would remedy the problem but no luck. I don’t notice any Changes in performance but still wanna figure out what’s causing it. Thank you.
This was actually my 5th time taking them off, so I guess that’s the limit lol
I’ll do that and probably end up getting the khc bolts. So just to confirm before I start something I can’t finish, lifting the bed will give me access to install the nut inserts?
I been digging around and I can’t find the nut so I’m thinking somehow they got unclipped. The two front ones thread in just fine. Either I need to remove the bed to install the clips or get someone with tiny hands cuz it’s a tight fit
I recently removed my SDHQ chase rack to load some stuff in the bed of the truck. Today I tried reinstalling said chase rack only to notice that the two middle bolts keep spinning. After further inspection it looks like the nut/clip that threads onto the bolts have fallen off. It’s a tight fight...
For the past month or so, my transmission gauge shows the transmission to be cold even after warming up properly and driving around for a while. It started doing this after we got some snow and freezing temperatures. Was wondering if this is a transmission issue or just the gauge malfunctioning...
@GCATX @FordTechOne
turns out axle seals were leaking, rotated tires and vibration is now gone. Service papers state that my starters was “hanging up” causing the knock.
I have gone about 10,000 miles without rotating so that might be the culprit. I’ll have them rotate them once it’s up there. Thanks guys I’ll report back with any updates
Ill be dropping it off at the dealership tomorrow, will advise them of this comment. I dropped it off last week but they were unable to duplicate the sound. Aside from the gas pedal vibration, truck shifts very smoothly.
Drove it a bit and noise went away after a while, so whatever was loose might have fallen off. Thank you guys at least now I know where to start looking
Thank you guys, i did hit some pretty good jumps so it makes sense if something did come loose. Knocking sound is irregular, so I’m not sure if it correlates with the rpms. I’ll look around tomorrow in the am
