I had a thunk over small bumps- found out last week was a broken coil spring. has been driving me nuts for a few months. I spend a fair amount of time under the truck- but never looked at the coil spring- neither did the shop I took it to.
In 30+ years of travel- i have never seen a rv or travel trailer pulled over and weighted. But keep in mind your family is in side.
One of the things your missing is payload. The raptor is 1200 payload, (max weight the truck and stuff in it) 10% of a trailers weight should be on the hitch so...
came home to this- I have been hearing a thumping sound from front end- it has been in shop twice and I spent an hour looking my self- now I know. Let loose in driveway.
If you plan on keeping it- get the electronics covered- I don't worrie about the dealer or me fixing a water pump- but the electronics get $$$ fast. its $34 a year if you think about t.
Great pictures and I enjoyed reading the signs, ( wife all ways gets mad when I stop and read them) gave me some info on what looks like a very cool area.
If possiable- go back and look at teh idle time, If it was someone who loved his remote start- that would kill the mileage- so would city driving. Trips I'll get 15-17, winter around town, lots of remote start 14ish
With all the mods on the truck I can not believe the dealer will warranty anything. I would be looking at the front dif- it it only makes noise in 4 wheel drive. Do you have the torsen lock front dif? May be making noise when locking.
So as a side thought- resale value, if you found 2 raptors for sale from a private seller and one had a esp plan- how much more would you pay? I wonder it that would make it worth it?
I have towed my 2018 Raptor about 1500 miles. I have a 39" diesel, 10,000 Blue ox tow bar and base plates, Demco Delta force portable braking system. I think it is one of the best portable systems. Used its own air compressor very fast.
I get 9-10 mpg not towing, 7-9 towing. I only notice it on...
Yes in NJ you can only transport a gun in a case- to and from a "legal" gun range or to go hunting. Can not just leave in your truck, Also must be unloaded and ammo must be in a different case. Carrying a loaded pistol with in reach- and you going to jail.
You guys in TX have it so nice.
the go fast is nice but its a $7000 roof tent! This overland stuff has a huge demand and the pricing shows that. But at least the go fast is much lighter.
I believe the duratrac has a Kevlar to reinforce it rather than steel. Ran them on my old F250- a bit noisy as they got miles on them, great in snow in mud.
I have used a reese
Reese Strait-Line (66074) 1,200 lb Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Kit
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BJ0H8U/?tag=fordraptorforum-20
I did not use this on the raptor yet- but on an other car- works fantastic- not only transfers weight but stops all sway.
