My Torque App says it went from 0-60 in 8s to 6.5s. I was hoping to be quicker, honestly. I do have a bunch of recovery equipment in it, but I was hoping to be under 6s.
I'm going to be selling the X4 anyway, but I don't think there's a way to convert the file format. I may be able to copy it off the truck with an X4, but it's not something I want to mess with now that the truck is finally running again
HPTuners worked like a charm. A few hours of street tuning, and it's running great. Going to have him adjust one throttle quirk, but HPTuners worked great!
I've found another tuner local. One man show and mobile. He does SCT and HPTuners. He's very confident in HPTuners and prefers them. He's tuned Whipple Raptors before, but it's been ~5 years. Bonus, everything is only $500 for a full Dyno tune for either software.
I finally heard back from...
I just did the cigar smoke test, and I'm not finding any vacuum leaks.
The boost bypass line was installed by Whipple, and does appear to have a slight kink in it. I'll see if I can address that once I recover from huffing this cheap cigar.
By "rough" I meant not right. I takes a bit to learn the idle. On the stock tune, it revs up and slowly comes back down as it gets warm. It it's not missing - it just thinks the injectors are half the size they are. It also idles high when in gear. On the tuner's tune, it idles perfect as soon...
I've heard bad things about the Whipple tune, JDM wouldn't tune anything but 47# or 78# injectors, and I haven't talked to Livernois. Didn't know they did custom tuning...
I finished the install on my Whipple several weeks ago, and ordered a tune update for my SCT X4 from one of the big name tuners to accompany the blower. I don't have a reputable tuner near me, so this was cheaper and more practical.
Every tune they have sent me idles very well, then...
I happened to have a trans cooler from a 7.3 Super Duty, and noticed that it is just about a drop in replacement for our trucks. You just need a few adapters. One of the mounting holes even lines up perfectly with a hood release mounting hole. This is a very common mod for the Lightning guys...
My Lightning did something similar on the 1-2 shift. Wound up being intermediate clutches. Have no idea if these transmissions would act the same, though.
Interesting. Onyx is still nylon based. Looks like the printing temperature is marginally higher than NylonX. Glad it's working out. I might try some parts myself.
Have you tested this on engine for a long time yet? I'm assuming it's something like NylonX?
I'd be very worried about warpage. I've only seen Ultem used in engine bays successfully.
I decided to splash through a puddle last night, and I found that muddy water started dripping in from the tops of each door. It doesn't leak a drop in the rain, however. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Do I just need new weatherstripping?
How is that monoblade TB working out? I found a deal on one for my Whipple build, but I've heard rumors that it's touchy and causes some driveability issues...
I have these injectors laying around after I upgraded the injectors on my Lightning. They made 635hp at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno with duty cycle to spare. I think they'll suffice.
