I spoke to my local dealership first and told them I had a phaser problem again and that I know the truck is out of warranty and all but this is a common problem and I had it fixed before what should I do?
Dealer gave me the # said call them explain to them as they have financial assistance set...
Ok just giving people a head up.
Early build 2018 802A had phasers replaced at 54K under warranty, they went out again now at 94K no warranty but I called Ford Customer Care and they offered 50% coverage.
I accepted the discount and truck is back with me fixed again, Ford Customer Care...
Almost 2 weeks later Ford Customer Care finally said I qualify for financial assistance.... but they will let me know what % next week lol.
Should I argue with them and try to get full coverage or what are your guys thoughts?
early 2018 phasers replaced @ 54K now at 94K needed again....
Ive got mine in the service department too, waiting on Ford Customer care to get back to me to see if they are going to help.
How loud is yours? This is my second time replacing mine and of course out of warranty now..... the labor prices they charge here in So Cal are stupid!
Mine is back at the dealer as of yesterday, did the phasers back in Dec 2020 @ 54K miles now back @ 94K miles.... this time sounds way worse.
I got a claim # from Ford Customer Care sounds like they are willing to step up and help.
Mine just started doing it that bad, I have an early 2018 model had the phasers replaced @ 54K miles now at 94K it started about 3 months ago and now is this bad, trying not to drive the truck now.
What ended up being the repair? I am thinking timing chain and phasers?
I play golf and I am always afraid when one of my balls fly's outta bounds.
If I knowingly hit someone's property and damaged it I would make good but most of the time as a golfer you have no clue where the ball ends up if it goes that far out of bounds.
I would try to get the $ from the...
So my early build 2018 Raptor started making this Cam Phaser noise issue a few thousand miles ago. Truck currently has 42K miles on it.
When I mentioned something to the dealer they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about and since it did not re create the noise at that time...
^ mine started making this noise recently..... Used to be once in a while upon cold start up and now it is every cold start up.
Mine is a early build 2018 with 42K miles on it.
My dealership acted like they had no clue what I was talking about. How do I get them to warrant this?
It all depends if you want to actually use your truck off road.
If you just want a pavement princess no problem at all. If you actually want to abuse your truck in the dirt stick with 35s. I have 35s with geiser springs camburg UCA's and out back Deaver +3 with RPG bump stops and love the...
^ yup when I park my truck in my off cambered driveway one side always sits and 1" + higher than the other. First time I seen this I was worried too lol!
Mine will usually do some loud back fires after I get a new tank of gas from a random gas station.... Probably something fuel related....
Truck kinda feels sluggish on throttle and then a few huge gunshots ring out of the exhaust.... Only last a few seconds then it seems like the truck adjust...
Man I am glad my truck is pretty darn quiet, some squeaks here and there but I will hit those with grease when it happens and seems to help for a while.... Hope you figure it out, would drive me nuts too.
When I put on my ADD bumper I also bought the cruise control adapter but never even bothered installing it.
1 - because it was a hassle to do and
2 - because I never use CC on any of my current or previous vehicles.
Glad I didn't bother now as I have seen a lot of people have the same...
^ installed mine last weekend.... We only have 91 out here but I definitely notice a gain in the mid range acceleration... You can feel the improvement due to the added boost.
Nothing crazy but for the price and ease of install definitely a good mod.
Constantly amazed that people will still pay over MSRP for a mass produced truck....
It is not hard to find them @ MSRP or even under if you go out of the state.... The person complaining to the BBB just plain and simple got ripped off, but that is their fault for being willing to go through...
