Glad it worked out for you. Turns out my camera was either bad or a counterfeit. I got my money back so there’s that. I guess (obviously) be careful with what you buy from non Ford sources.
My camera has been out for a while. I just got around to buying all the parts to fix it. I was aware I need to take the truck to the dealership to have the computer “calibrated” to the new camera. There are are a couple of options in the park assist that aren’t activated and also (see below)...
When I first installed the system, the directions recommended Lee power steering fluid but did not specify that synthetic fluid and or atf as used in the stock system were specifically not to be used. Well, I used a AMSOIL synthetic atf. After I completed the original install and started having...
I forgot all about this thread. No I never found the problem. The last time I contacted Lee, I got some kind of really dumb response asking me if I had addressed the hydroboost. I replied asking what exactly he was talking about and I never got an answer back.
I’ve been driving it with a whining...
Thanks for the reply. So, even though you have a different dash kit, it sounds like the maestro/ stereo mostly respond the same. Mine also stays temporarily on the climate screen if I adjust either the fan or temperature but stays if I push the center of the temp knob. The only difference I see...
My 2013 Raptor had the base 4.5" stereo and display. I recently installed an iDatalink Maestro K150 dash kit with the RR interface module along with an Alpine iLX-507 head unit. Overall, I'm very happy with the install. Over the last couple of months, I've been working through learning the...
Thanks for the input. The video was helpful. The guy had me laughing. He sounds like me working on my truck. I replaced the tensioner since I’ve already tried everything else and I figured I had nothing to lose. No luck. It still makes the same noise.
Sorry it took me so long, we had a bit of a family emergency which kept me from working on my truck. I replaced all of the hoses and fittings, bled the system and I am still having the exact same problem. I was able to get all of the air out of it and then a couple of days later It groaning and...
I bought a new rack a few months back but just got around to changing it a couple of weeks ago. It made no difference whatsoever. So that was a big waste of time and money. I’m kind of in the same boat as you. I've bled and bled and re-bled a million times. I’ve also had my pump replaced and...
I bought a remanufactured Motorcraft rack from Rock Auto (thanks for the tip FordTechOne). I’m holding off slightly on the replacement however. I’ve wanted to install RPG tie rods for a while. Since my truck is nearing 100k and it will all be apart, I figured now was the time to do it. I’ll...
I don’t know if I’d trust a remanufactured rack. I don’t really have a problem buying a new one if I need to, it’s just that I don’t know if I do. I don’t like buying things I don’t need. I’m probably gonna just bite the bullet and really cross my fingers that fixes my problem. I really don’t...
Well I changed the rack adaptor last weekend. I took my time and bled the system very carefully. It was very quiet for about five minutes and then started making noise again. I really think my rack and pinion might be the problem, I just don't know that there is a way to verify this assumption...
I'm with you, I don't fully understand either but from what I've been told it's possible. I can for sure say that there is not any sort of pinched or kinked line. It's all new, I've been over it more times than I care to have been. Also, when I installed the system, I flushed out all of the old...
Another thought I’ve been having, how likely is it that my rack and pinion is bad and or leaking air. I see no evidence of fluid leakage anywhere in the entire system, which makes finding the air leak all that more difficult. I’d hate to be spinning my wheels on the pump and hoses when the...
Yeah, I've done it a bunch of times with the engine off and it only moderately worked. I did it yesterday with the engine running and it really pushed out a bunch of air. Unfortunately I think I've got a leak somewhere.
I'm fine with a little bit more noise, but it seems to be more than just that. I'm pretty sure I've got a leak somewhere. I'm kind of thinking the O-rings on the rack adaptor are a good place to start looking. I've had every other fitting off and on multiple times and I'm pretty sure they are...
I ran through this procedure yesterday afternoon, twice as stated. The first time it was noisy and foamed up quite a bit, obviously pushing out a lot of air. The vacuum also dropped some as well. The second time around, it was much less noisy, the vacuum seemed to pretty much hold, and I didn't...
I wouldn’t have any hesitation about the kit itself. It’s pretty top notch. As for bleeding, I’d say follow the instructions to a tee a ask questions if you have any, before you do something wrong.
At the direction of Lee, I’m using AC Delco PS fluid. I was told specifically not to use...
Yes, I’ve turned the wheel back and forth lock to lock many many times. I’m no expert on the matter by any means, but from what I’ve read online applying a vacuum at the reservoir does in fact help pull air up and out. It did actually seem to help pull some air out.
My steering pump went south on me a while back and I decided after some research to go ahead and upgrade to a Lee PS kit. All went well with the install except my new PS system is whining louder than the old one. Let me say up front, this is in no way a dig on Lee. I have been in touch with them...
