Sadly, it was time to trade my 2013 in with 84,000 miles. It was just a matter of time before some repairs became necessary to the front end and shocks. I was not willing to pay $70k+ for a Gen 2 so I shopped a an F250 Tremor gas and a Power Wagon. The winner is below, as I had the choice of...
I have a gen1 and have driven a gen2. The gen2 is much more refined and handles much better than my gen1. If the gen3 has a v8 it would most likely be the new 7.3l that will be in the new f250/350s. I doubt ford will do that, as the 3.5l probably has better hp/tq #s than the new 7.3l. The...
Im a Gen1 owner and v8 guy but I hope and pray that Ford doesn't do a Raptor v8. I think more likely, you'll see an F250 Raptor type truck on the market soon. The interesting part of this scenario is the bore spacing on the pushrod v8. If it is 5", this engine will sell. If it is 4.5" like...
I have a 13 raptor and love it. I have recently test driven a ZR2, 18 raptor and dodge power wagon. I havnt driven the Tacoma but have researched them a lot. I drove a decked out power wagon with a sticker price of $53k. The dealer would have let it go for $48k. Im not a dodge fan boy but...
I had the same issue and determined it was bad fuel, ie lower octane than the truck wanted. Put some premium fuel in, and watch where you buy your lower octane fuel from.
I have a 13 Raptor and test drove a zr2 and a 17 Raptor back to back. The zr2 is a nice truck but isn't in the same league as the 17 Raptor. There is a $19k price difference and many might go with a zr2 because of it. I hate to say this but the gen2 is probably 25 percent better than my gen1...
The new 10 speed could be problematic. I'm a vette guy so I'm familiar with gm transmissions. The 4L80e casing is the foundation of the 6l90, 8L90, and now the 10sp.
The 8L90 went into the 15 vettes. They over-heated under hard driving. The problem was fixed when they added more plumbing and...
I have a 2013 Raptor and I love it. It is the only Ford product I own, or would own. I almost puked when the new Ford GT came out with a v6. A v6 Raptor will never be in my driveway.
I'm also skeptical of the gm/ford 10sp auto.
