This is the headache part of a search for a nice GEN one Raptor. It may look good in pictures but once you get close, you notice all the bad things. Rust is not a killer for the truck but if you can find a nicer one in better shape with less issues then go that route.

Sounds about right. Dealers here are the same. One quick lane here that has there stuff together. And they clean up the skid plate after there spillage. I let them know I appreciate that.
If I’m that close, I usually change the oil before a road trip in any of our vehicles. Just peace of mind for me that there’s fresh oil and filter in the engine for that type of trip especially if you’re doing mountains or hot desert driving.
