This is the headache part of a search for a nice GEN one Raptor. It may look good in pictures but once you get close, you notice all the bad things. Rust is not a killer for the truck but if you can find a nicer one in better shape with less issues then go that route.

Yes, I typically go with Motorcraft batteries for our Raptors. That’s a long time for one battery that’s impressive.

Hey, leave me out of this. By the way, I had it replaced along with new valve covers and some other things and it runs great now. i’ll stick with my 6.2 any day. Actually it’s my wife’s truck and she does check the oil.

Usually, if it’s just a cold air intake installed, it will not need a tune for the engine. But if they’re saying, it needs a tune, ask them if it is coming with a handheld tuner from the previous owner if not, they may be able to reprogram back to stock for you. Do a good once over on the...

Sounds about right. Dealers here are the same. One quick lane here that has there stuff together. And they clean up the skid plate after there spillage. I let them know I appreciate that.

I personally would stick with the horsepower flex issue excuse. It sounds better.

If I’m that close, I usually change the oil before a road trip in any of our vehicles. Just peace of mind for me that there’s fresh oil and filter in the engine for that type of trip especially if you’re doing mountains or hot desert driving.
