Not 100% sure but you might have to plug it in and then access Android Auto on the phone (while plugged in) so you can set the permissions. After you do this once you should not have to do again.

Just my $.02/not an expert - but you would be slightly over the recommended towing capacity without a Weight Distribution Hitch. Manual says 5000# max w/o a WDH. I would say just get a WDH setup (can go to 8000# with a WDH) - but that trailer doesn't appear to be capable of using a WDH setup...
