Think about it, this tool managed to ruin a great truck- rendering it basically unusable, undo millions of dollars and probably thousands of hours of engineering work with just one afternoon at the local tire shop.
Really, everything in the 80's were shit. I bought my first Ford tuck in 91 and have been driving them since. Some were better than others, but all of them did the job.
The Raptor however has been a world apart. I don't know where you are, but one trip out to the desert will seal the deal-...
Thanks, that answers some questions, but creates another:
Why the change to the allocations?
What this tells me is Ford doesn't want to make Raptors anymore, because here is what's going to happen.
Ford limits production/ dealer allocation, so the dealers add a ton of money to the price...
On pavement, it's podcasts via Bluetooth or music from my flash drive. That ranges from classical to hard rock.
When I am off road, I shut everything off so I can hear what's going on.
The wife's FX4 came with Goodyear SRA's, they worked pretty well in the snow...when we had snow.... anyway, last year we pulled a Toyota out who had made a wrong turn and was stuck up to his bumpers, so for me those stockers did OK.
Yeah, I sold my '08 F150 to CarMax (to get the Raptor). They offered an OK price and the transaction was easy. You wont get top dollar, but it will be better then what a dealer offers for trade & it's easy in that with a lot of private deals you have to deal with the buyer getting financing.
Good that someone is thinking out of the box, but dragging a gas compressor around is going to get real old real fast. Your going to want to anchor it down real well, and don't forget, most small engine gas tanks are vented, so it's probably going to be leaking gas all over. And then you run...
Watched Reno PD do that same thing to some dipshit who wouldn't move over. He lit him up, then took off. Of course I followed and got past the dipshit as well.
Makes sense to me.
I can understand Ford's position, ultimately Ford is who gets sued if one of their vehicles is in an accident and someone gets hurt. How the body is assembled can have an effect on a vehicle's crash ability. So lets say bubba jones has his F150 fixed by his cousin who uses...
My intent was not to complain about the mods or anyone who runs things. It takes balls to allow a post that discredits a supporting vendor, and I respect that. it's even worse when the information in said article is total BS.
You are right, the best thing to do is to allow incorrect articles...
Some of that article is correct and good advice. Some of it was crap. Did it need to point fingers? No.
For the mods of this site to let the negative comments remain about a supporter of this site says a lot about their neutrality. For any of you noobs, head over to the Z and make a comment...
Yeah, I never thought about it. But the Escape has it and you quickly get used to not having to fish your keys out of your pocket. I really miss it when I drive the Raptor.
What people hate is all the add on emissions crap and the problems that EGR and things like that create. My 2001 7.3 made good power and was trouble free. The 6.0 I had was like a grenade with the pin pulled.
If there was no Raptor, I would probably have a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.
And I...
Got a 5.0 in the wife's truck ('11) and it runs great. Lots of power and excellent mileage.
Now Ford's diesels...that's a story into itself, once the 7.3 went away things seemed to go downhill. IDK much about their current Diesels.
I noticed the same thing with my Escape, Sirius sound quality stunk. With every Ford I have, after the 6 month trial ends that's it. Who needs to pay for Sirius when you have the ability to program all your own music via the USB / Bluetooth?
Here's one for ya- Saw two of them (Blk Scab, Wht Screw) for sale at a Toyota dealer- I guess if Toyota wont build it, sell used Raptors.
I also saw my first Terrain in Reno-@ Costco.
Had a job in Fernley for four days, and wouldn't you know it? Every freakng day I see a Raptor, either on I 80 or in the little town of Fernley. 2 silver, one red, one black.
