You are exactly right. The Mfg is going to push the envelope as far as they can for obvious reasons. After all they are not the ones who pay for a shortened lifespan.
That's a good lesson for all of us. By virture of our Raptors we can drive further in an hour than you can walk in a day.
We allways carry our "emergency box" (clothing, food, water, etc) when venturing off road. Heck, it goes with us anytime we go over Donner summit in the winter.
I know this is smart A@#, but here is my take on that:
Saves them postage, they wont have to send out recall notices, the trucks will allready be at the dealerships on a regular basis.
