So for anyone that is interested, Carstream released an update and instructions to make it work with the current version of Android Auto. It does require root access on the phone though.
The guy who writes the Android Auto torque display app is actively working toward a solution also, and...
I put it on blue in December, red in February, orange in October, green in March. I change mine all the time. Especially on the way to Starbucks.
Let the memes fly.
You're going to need the nylon panel poppers. I have had a lot of luck with this kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07917TDL6/?tag=fordraptorforum-20. This one looks cool too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LUPOU1O/?tag=fordraptorforum-20. If you don't want to wait for Amazon, most auto-parts stores...
I don't know if I'm the guy you're talking about, but I did it. There was like 10 articles each with a different set of part numbers. It started with a guy who took an XL f-150 with no lights what-so-ever that retrofitted his truck to have the ambient lighting. Of course that is a much more...
I turned it off within the first week and I use my phone pretty much constantly. I've never had a problem. I guess I will try turning it back on to see if my calls are missing something.
Do you have a link to the thread on f150 forums? What kind of updates? Are the updates that he's made software/firmware or hardware? Can you update older units?
Are you using the wrong keyfob. The memories are fob specific. If my wife unlocks the door it sets the seat to number 2 (and I am number 1). Maybe you're using the fob assigned to number 2?
Thanks for the info.
I think the flax tweeters are huge like the k2. Crutchfield has an awesome deal on K2s right now, so I bought some, but the tweeter is freakin huge. I've been stressing about getting it mounted in the factory location.
Did you put the Focal tweeters in the stock location in the A-Pillar, or did you make an enclosure for them? How hard was it to fit them in? Is the sound affected by the small grills?
So, what are your thoughts on speaker wire size in this application?
Amps in the back of the truck cab, speakers in the front doors and a pillars. Does it matter if the crossover is in the door with the midrange, or if it is back on the amp rack?
200 watts at 2Ω
200 watts at 4Ω
So can I run 12awg? Do I really need to run 10ga speaker wire? Why is no one putting fuses on speaker wire if this is a such a concern?
I'm not going to lie, I've installed a few car stereos with 200+ watts to mids and highs with 14ga wire. According to your chart I should have used at...
So, the front speakers I am installing are 2ohm, and the amp is rated at 200 watts into a 2 ohm load, so I guess I do need to re-wire. What gauge speaker wire should I run?
So, if I am running the 1/0 power down the passenger side of the truck, do I need to run speaker wire up the drivers...
Yeah I am having a hard time with this being the miracle mod. I have no intention of drilling a "weep hole," but I wanted to figure out what it was when I read your post. I also wanted to subscribe to this thread, so I thought I would comment about the weep hole. My bad. I forgot that this...
Sorry. I should have just typed "subscribed."
Let me fix it.
Has anyone installed these plugs and had bad results?
Has anyone installed them without a tune that wasn't really having a problem, and seen a huge performance gain?
So does anyone have a hookup for discounts on car stereo equipment?
If enough people want in on a group buy for the NAVTV Zen-A2B adapter for the B&O, I can contact them and see if I can put something together.
Any thoughts?
So I just read this "weep hole" thing. Let me see if I understand. You drill a 1/16th hole in the charge side?! You create your own boost leak... of metered air?! The argument is that you make more boost than this hole can bleed off? I must be misunderstanding.
I can't find the thread now either here or on f-150 forums, but someone identified the speaker harness on the B&O system and it was something really strange like an Audi or a SAAB. I also don't remember if it was Scosche or Metra or what. Does anyone remember what it was or where the thread...
