I just drove from Los Angeles, Ca to Benton Harbor, Mi. 2722 miles. I saw 11 Raptors along the way, 7 black, 3 white, 1 race red. 9 were screws, 2 were scabs. I thought I would have seen more. Great truck for a roadtrip!

You can remove the bar assembly and replace it with the non-step tailgate cover plate. I think mine was $66 from ford. It only comes primered, but if you are lining the bed or covering it with a plastic liner it's not a problem.

4wd makes all the difference-sometimes. We ran over 30 miles in 4wd, off road mode, diff locked, and traction control off.
