Where in AZ are you (sorry if I already asked you this....lol). And did you end up getting a code orange? I'm having second thoughts about my Oxford white and the more pics I see of code orange, the less "look at me fu*kers!!!" vibe it seems to give off. In low lighting, CO looks especially...
I don't know for certain that it does, but with both chip/parts shortages and worker shortages (from what I've been told), I think it's a fair question to ask
My scheduled build date for my 2022 Raptor was supposed to be the week of Feb 7th.........then Feb 21st.
I called my dealer this past weekend to ensure the above date was still on schedule and the answer I got was: "uhhh......I think so. Let me check".
After checking, he discovered it's now...
The reality is no one knows. Not your dealer--not anyone.
I had a Raptor build date of Feb 7th, which was then moved to Feb 21st.
I called my dealer 3 days ago to verify the build was still happening and he had to look it up to confirm. Guess what he found out?
My build has now been moved...
Really interesting you posted this............
I just found out my Raptor build has been postponed from the week of Feb 7th to Feb 21st, and now....... April 4th.
I'm actually not very confident in Ford any longer and wonder if this is a sign to re consider getting a Raptor.
I'm more interested...
It looks like they can modify the 37 build. I'm thinking of eliminating the tow package/moonroof and adding the Blue Recaro's-- although I haven't seen the seats in person.
How do they compare comfort wise for long drives with the standard leather package?
Thoughts?
So, after ruling out the tremor and being told there is an allocation for a Raptor (35 only), I was also told this same dealership has an actual build date with an order submitted on a 37 Raptor, with the build date set for Jan 19th. And yes, it's available at MSRP for me.
I had no desire to...
Glad you mentioned the new coil overs: believe it or not, i felt that the tremor-- even with its leaf springs-- drove smoother than the Gen 2 raptor on some poorly paved roads. But, as you said, with the new coil overs and from early reviews, I think this Gen 3 should have the Tremor beat...
UPDATE: Drove my buddy's Gen 2 Raptor yesterday.........sealed the deal. This is a no contest-- I'm ordering the Raptor. It felt as nimble and light as I was hoping it would be. I didn't feel the added width was much of an issue, and it was exactly what I'm looking for in a sports...
lol-- I'm not that concerned. It will take some adjustment but I'm sure it will be fine. When I drove one briefly 5 months ago, I recall thinking it felt chunky-- as you said-- but also thought: a truck shouldn't be able to drive like this (coming from a Ram Rebel)......... it truly felt...
What about the lockable storage option in the back? I know that's included in the build, and figured that might be a good place to keep my 9mm and/or Shotgun on long drives. Is it not a big enough option?
Good stuff, and much appreciated. To be clear: I'm fully aware that the Raptor and Tremor are apples and oranges: there is no true performance oriented off road truck out there to compete with the Raptor outside of the TRX, and I have no interest in a TRX, even though I have a connection...
If I opted for the Tremor, AM Blue would have been my choice, given the orange accents and front grille-- I think it compliments that truck really well.
But for the Raptor, I don't think it's the right color as I just don't see it going with the front grille and other badging. Just my $.02
@K223: I tend to turn my vehicles over every few years, so resale is huge for me. That's another reason I'm very hesitant about buying a Tremor at or near sticker in this temporarily inflated market.
BTW: you guys all feel that the Raptor--even with its off road baja focused suspension--...
Thanks for all of the great advice/replies. Consensus is that it's a no brainer.
One other thing for you guys in the snow/ice: Have any of you changed out your KO2's for the winter specifically for icy roads? I know the KO2's do great in the snow, although they suck in the rain (was my...
Lol yes sir. Up in show low/pine top.
Yeah I’m thinking the same. Plus the other way to look at it: if for some crazy reason I don’t love the raptor, I can turn around and sell it in a year or two without fear of losing much on it and always go back to tremor or another truck.
The one...
Yeah I thought the leaf springs were a bit of a ?? for the tremor, but then when I thought about the fact that it’s meant to be able to tow and handle some serious payload, i guess it made sense. The ride quality is surprisingly good on the tremor, but the seats are just ok. At that price...
Newbie to this forum --I've been cross shopping these two trucks for some time and I've briefly driven a Gen 2 raptor several months ago and recently drove a new 2021 fully loaded Tremor.
I live in AZ, where the Raptor literally was born to shine, but with the caveat that I live in the northern...
