Well just my luck, the switchback lighting I thought I had has now come out. The new 2.0 switchback lights can do either white or amber at all times. Instead of white continuously and amber for just turn signals. Now I need to decide if i want to spend $230 for the new lights and swap them all...
Back again for an update.
While these have been done for awhile now, I have totally forgotten to update this thread to show the progress.
Anyway, here is a shot of the assembled light.
Up next was the HD relay harness.
This was a tight fit due to the length of the harness and...
Little set back last week.
While everything for the most part is done, I was missing the bulb retaining ring from the projector and could not finish the install. I thought I may have misplaced it but after cleaning the whole area and looking for hours it is no where to be seen. I never...
I used the Mini H1's. They already come with a clear lens.
Hoping to finish the other side tonight and get them in. Should be much faster for the other one since I know what to do now. Already have the wiring harness in and ready to go.
Okay, Okay..... so it has been awhile since I last updated this thread. I just cant believe it has been 3 months that these have been sitting to the side. Needless to say, I have not had much time to work these lights due to schooling amongst other things.
Either way, I did get a whole free...
Sorry, I have not made much progress lately. Been over in California for a week for work and this past weekend was dedicated to getting my cars cooling system overhauled.
I have gotten some metal that I think will work for making some brackets to mount the projectors. But I am hoping to get...
Mostly because the installed projectors are not very good and by upgrading to a decent aftermarket one you would have much better lighting output and cutoff.
The reason I ask is because the Halogen model of this headlight has a different bulb type than the stock H13 installed in the O.E. headlight. I believe is may have a H1 bulb with a harness going to a H13 Plug. Their is a HID model that is a little more expensive but I'm assuming its a plug and...
I might be a couple weeks till I can finish these. Don't get much time to work on them. Now that I have them open, I am finding new things I may want to do to them. For instance, I may do a LED Switchback strip in the Existing DRL portion. Plan on them being white during the day and turn amber...
Any opinions on whether or not I should make the light strip the full length of the channel it's in? Would have to cut a hole on the other side as well and shove the led strip through. I think it may look better but would have to be done perfect to look right.
FOR SALE!
Being I have a 2011, the first thing on my list to change was the headlights. I swapped in some silverstars from a leftover HID conversion and was still very disappointed with the light output. I then began looking for some O.E. Ford replacements but ended up wanting a more custom...
I am currently doing a retrofit build with these headlights. My initial impression of these are pretty good. They look very well sealed. They fit well and they look good. Only con is the lighting sucks. Which I expected anyway.
If your trying to save money I would at least do these with a HID...

Not yet. I have heard good things about it and was looking at the Frank Smith one he has for sale. Just running a Alpha-N tune as well as his SMG tune from Frank (aka TTFS) right now.
