It's not quite that simple. 1, chip factories take years to make ready. 2, most chip demand is for much more modern chips, so factories being built are focused on those. The chips needed by vehicle manufacturers (excluding Tesla) are decade old spec, so new factories aren't interested in tooling...
What is this dashboard with the info and how do I get to it? I got an email from Ford yesterday confirming my order (dealer submitted it yesterday) but didn't know there's somewhere I can go for updates.
I'm curious if this is a matter of time to figure it out or more supply chain crap. It takes the time it takes to do the R&D but it'll be frustrating if this is supply chain related. I'm surprised they have no ETA when Gen 3s have been out for some time now.
Frustrating. None of the current color offering feel like they'll quite do this. Hopefully AMB grows on me once I have it. For me Lead Foot and Avalanche are the only colors Ford has done Raptors in that really have that look back and say wow factor.
Are you still waiting on a 2021 order? I really wanted LF but it's gone for 2022. Frankly I think Ford did a crap job and there are no truly interesting colors for 2022 if you're not into red and orange.
Real question, what's all the "work" that everyone talks about with AMB? Like, run it...
This thread makes me happy I'm ordering a 35. I like the look of the 37" tires, but I was worried they'd hurt street acceleration. The honest truth is that there's not much wide open off-roading to be done in New Hampshire, so my Gen 2 only saw real off-roading a few times. With a Cobb tune it...
Fingers crossed that improves but it is what it is if so. It was 4 months when I ordered my 2018, so a little longer under current conditions isn't too bad. Dealer told me to leave off the tonneau cover because it might hold up the rest. I'm guessing there are a lot of factors that come into play.
You guys convinced me. Atlas looks too uninteresting in pictures. The Ford site makes it look a little turquiose but it's really just blue. I like the idea of black but it hides some of the trucks shape. Looks like Antimatter is how I'm ordering.
The more people have talked about Antimatter, the more I'm leaning that way. I was thinking Atlas, but the more I look at pics of it the more it seems like a normal F-150 color to me. It is brighter and more bold, which I like, but Antimatter seems to be a more interesting color. Wish Ford had...
I'm putting together an order with my dealer and I saw on a thread there's a Start-Stop Delete option that isn't on the 2022 Raptor builder but is available on the dealer's order list.
What else is available that I wouldn't know to ask about? Is the Applique Delete still a thing? What else?
Getting ready to place an order. Got a dealer who will do it at MSRP for me. I had a 2018 in LeadFoot and loved that color but it's not on the manu for 2022. Everything I've seen suggests Antimatter is super dark in most light conditions. Black on black is a cool look but I'd like a bit more...
Had a Gen 2 and sold it at the top of the 2021 used car market. Want to get into a 2022 Gen 3 35 (don't offroad much and the 37 is surely slower). I'm tempted to put in an order and my dealer said 4-5 months from order to arrival. That's fine but I'm wondering if the Gen 3s are showing up with...
You're more than a bit out of touch with what's going on in the world. First, Ford cares WAY more about getting regular F-150s produced. Raptors are nothing to them by comparison. Second, there are supply shortages across multiple parts of the truck and regular F-150s. If they could produce like...
Crazy. I had two sets and never made it to 25k miles on either. The second time I did a warranty claim and BFG credited my $640 back. Driving style has to play in, but driving the truck any way other and like a grandma seems to stop them from getting up there in miles.
Lol I'm sure they're selling slowly. The whole auto industry is heavily marked up right now and Raptors are going to be much more so. If they were selling at MSRP dealers wouldn't be able to keep them in stock. The reality is that with limited supply there's always someone who will pay at least...
Sold the truck. For those interested in market values, a dealer in MA gave me $64,500 for it in June. They initially listed it for $71k and have dropped it to $67k. I think they bought it from me at the peak of used car prices and overpaid me for it.
I'd sell it to recoup your cost and start over. Nothing worse than a used vehicle with mods from a prior owner that can't be reversed with basic tools.
Everyone seems to think they're the exception to the rule... If you want a Gen 3 in 2021 you're paying over MSRP. There will be one or two guys that find a dealer who will do this but almost 100% of people will pay the markup or will need to wait until mid-late 2022. Dealers CAN get $15k over...
I think you're nuts to think you're getting a Gen 3 for MSRP before summer 2022, maybe later. I sold my 2018 to a dealer who are selling it for over its original MSRP (and they'll get it). The market right now already commands super high prices and even in a stable market the Gen 3 would have...
This doof thinks he's breaking all kinds of new info, including the coming 'R'... We know this stuff already. The real question is how much the vehicle/chip shortage is going to delay the Gen 3 and how much that will drive up price.
4A doesn't help with hydroplaning. The biggest issue for the KO2s when they wear down is that they'll start floating on very wet roads. By 4/32 I don't trust them to be predictable. Though the way I drive I get about 22k miles on a set. If I drove however one drives to get 35k miles I guess...
