All depends on how much oil you want to waste. If you want to throw an extra oil change in before the first interval I think that's not a bad idea. But with today's full synthetic oils changing at 3,000 mile intervals is pointless.
As soon as I could I got FORScan and disabled Auto Start/Stop. I'd recommend you do the same...then you don't have to worry about your turbos. And then it doesn't matter if it is old tech or new tech or anything else. Just get rid of it.
So Obscure...I've been gone for awhile. Gone from the forums and gone from my truck...dealing with some serious family health issues. Anyway. Just read this entire thread. I bought the Whipple tune as part of the original group buy in Dec 2017. I knew at the time that there were issues with...
Catching up on this thread...don't really want to get back to the Water Wetter discussion and who's smarter (or dumber)...but...found this interesting. Thought some of you might too:
"For our test we rounded up four of the most popular cooling additive products on the market: Red Line Water...
Don't understand your question Kamil. Are you asking how only loading the Whipple Tune file (and gapping the plugs) but without installing the air intake or intercooler would compare with loading the MPT tune file?
In other words, how does the Whipple Stage 1 calibration only ($850 includes...
GP...why the extra tie downs to the front and rear? are the kayaks not stable just strapped to the rack? are you going to a point under the gap of the hood or is there a bracket or something? thanks for clarifying.
That's awesome Smurf. Thanks. Found same on page 89 of the 2018 Owner's Manual. Think I may take it up with the dealer next time I'm in. Pretty sure I noticed streaks and drip marks last time I looked...after earlier noticing heavy fogging in sub zero temps.
Other than for photos does your truck see much time off road or in the desert? or was it built mainly to showcase products and look purrty? Curious if the AMP Research retractable running boards are better or worse than stock for running off road?
Drive over 20mph for more than 2 minutes and you should be all set. If not the reset and retraining methods are in the manual starting around page 398.
Regular cleaning and wax are your best bets. Have heard of some people spraying and wiping with products like Liquid Wrench to coat them. No personal experience. Glad to be in a no salt only sand location...and to not give a rats ass about my exhaust tips.
Nick...that video link that Guy posted (not for the Multi-Gauge) mentions needing to tap a vacuum line. Is that required for this? Doesn't OBD II already have all the info it needs?
Earlier (maybe in some other thread) I said I was going to always use 4A and referred to the Weather Mode as Nanny Mode. After some serious storms here in the mountains at 6500 ft elev., driving mountain passes at 8500 feet, blowing snowstorms that slow most drivers to <5mph, variable roads...
Have you (meaning all of you talking about the width of a Raptor vs X, Y and Z) considered a new thread of your own? This one has been a nice discussion of GP1152's removable towing setup. The chatter from you guys...not so much.
Thanks CSJr. RE: wrench... I guess it's no worse than the TPMS warning I made my kids put up with in the winter 'cause I was too cheap to get the rim sensors. haha. :-)
Very common issue with the Gen1's.
I replaced my camera on my 2011 with a new one I got off eBay. Seem to remember there were a number of identical looking models with slight differences that affected whether they would work or not and hugely different pricing. My symptom was garbled video...
I agree with CSJr...just get the stuff and learn to use it.
Question for you CSJr re: the tire size calculation: I've read the spreadsheet and related links, etc. What I'm curious about, does this correct the speedometer AND the odometer? I see you have a 2017...do you get a wrench icon...
I can't be certain this works as I don't leave my truck running with my dog in it...but if it is triggering off from "key fob out of truck and running" the easiest way to handle this situation would be to leave your key fob in the console out of sight. Lock the doors using the keypad by...
Seriously?! It's a truck guys. Use it. No one gives a shit if there's a swirl mark in your paint...except you and some nerdy twit holding putty in his hand.
You do know that you're replying to a post in "2013 Ford SVT Raptor Forum" ??
and that Bucktown was reviving a 3 year old thread for some very odd reason?
