Picked up two cases Mercon LV, did transfer case yesterday first. I believe power steering pump uses mercon LV too, right?
Next will be transmission. How's the dorman oil pan? Has a drain plug really helps to do a clean job.
Cancelled appointment. Confirmed they actually don't use FORD rotunda machine, and don't take any responsibility if something goes wrong after. I will dorp the pan do the old way then. Still considering pan with drain plug, but those deep pan seems probably has potential clearence issue.
They heat up the oil not the truck right? :Big Laugh: beat the transmission until it reaches temp. I am going to ask them drop the pan change filter as well, so maybe a good time to get a new pan with drain plug? any good replacement pan?
They are stiffer, but in a good way I feel. More planted on the ground. Also a bit noisy (I have front only for now), like something loose, made me wonder if I forgot to bolt something back on.
I think it's a good upgrade even for on-road drive only. Now looking to upgrade the rear too.
Should I ask them to change filter at the same time? Truck has 25k. Dropping pan can only drain less than half of the oil, right? My transmission has no problem, just trying to keep it at top condition.
I am so tempted to do it. Had an appointment set up already, but still have time to think about it. My milage is pretty low, about 25k. But still, it's a 7 years old truck. With the money and time spent on this truck, I want to keep the truck long term, beside I do like it a lot. Trying to keep...
Dealer says they have a special machine to flush all the fluid out of transmission. Any downside to that? Did a quick google serach, seems some people has problem with flushing transmission, and some say good things about it.
Only option 2 left for me, lol... don't want to go back to stock wheel and fitting fiberglass fender is pita I heard.
Where it rubs the most? with 0 offset wheel I guess it would be fender flare? and I guess it would only rub when offroading?
I have Fox 3.0 front (proabaly raised front 1.5inch), Deaver +2 rear, Method NV 17inch wheels. Going to replace stock KO tires with KO2 37x12.5x17.
Any problems going to have with this setup? rubbing?
Confirmed, here's the reply from FOX:
"No, the lock ring is for the shock cap and should not be adjusted. The pinch bolt for the preload ring, torque setting for 1/4-28 X 1.50 Socket Head Cap Screw 12 ft lbs"
Got it installed today. Buddy lets me use their shop so ajusted pre-load down 9 threads on bench compressor. That raised the truck 2inch. Down to 1.75inch after a short drive. Exactly the height I wanted so very happy with the look. Test drive full open on DSC, feels better than OEM shock with...
The foxs are here. Had to pick them up myself from carrier's warehouse. They refused to deliver claiming "the shipment is too heavy to be delievered" :wtf:why would you accept a shipment that is too heavy to be delivered at the first place...
Anyways, to experienced guys, please take a look...
Got the tracking number, FOX 3.0 is on the way, should arrive early next week. Preparing myself for install so looking for tips/tricks, especially height pre-set. Thanks!
