Dodge to discontinue V8 Hellcat (TRX), What does that mean for Raptor R?

Agreed. I have a Mach-E on order for the wife. I just couldn't justify buying an ICE vehicle for her when thinking about resale in 5 to 10 years. I believe the Rivian and Lightning are perfect ideas, but an electric Raptor just isn't feasible. I regularly drive 200+ miles to get to a desert...

Is my 2010 Gen 1 (5.4) Even Considered a Raptor?

The original truck SVC worked with (Jarett's Smurf I think) had the 5.4. They tore it down, rebuilt, and tuned to get more than the 6.2's 411 without forced induction. I'd say that's a great way to go. The chasis and suspension make a Raptor; the motor is inconsequential.

Someone hit my Raptor in a parking lot....of course left no note $4,000-5,000 is the estimate

This 1000%. Please someone smash my bedside so I can have insurance pay for +4 glass. I bet you can have both sides done for what insurance pays to fix one side back to OEM spec. Hopefully they messed up your bumper too so the dovetailed bed matches a Baja style bumper.

    P0770 Shift Solenoid Code

I would start with this. The wiring harness for the transmission is routed directly over the exhaust manifold. If the clips holding the wire loom break, it can easily get too close to the manifold. Follow the wires from the transmission as they go around the manifold and look for any that are...

    EXO Reviews Gen3

There is no bad Raptor, but as expected, this seems to be the best configuration. Time will tell on durability.

    EXO Reviews Gen3

I can't believe this is the first post of this, but I was finally relieved to see a very honest review from people that have thousands of miles in both Gen1 and Gen2 trucks. I really hate TFL and basically every other review of the truck and was excited to get a real off-road review from people...

Question on Gen1 Touch Screen Synch

I think you can drop in a standard AV headunit with the Maestro RR. I've been looking into it. It apparently fully supports touchscreen climate controls, etc. https://www.idatalinkmaestro.com/en/products/maestro-rr2 Disclaimer, I haven't pulled the trigger yet, so I don't have experience, but...

6.2 Need help regarding Catalytic converter

I believe CA is unique in requiring CARB (California Air Resource Board) certified after market parts. Inspectors don't measure output at the tail pipe anymore. They make every company pay for a certification that each part is legal. So at smog testing they do a visual inspection and if any part...

6.2 Need help regarding Catalytic converter

Something to keep in mind is the install of the stock manifolds is an 8 hour job at a shop. The motor mount has to be disconnected. If you can install the Magnaflow cats directly on your headers, you would probably pass smog test in CA at most shops, and not have to pay for near as much labor on...

    Baja Raptor Run

EXO is absolutely not a Raptor only group. I've seen many different vehicles out with them. That said, with non-Raptor's, you have to be a little more self-sufficient. They aren't going to have a slew of spare parts like they do for the Raptors. The crew all drive Raptors and historically the...

    Baja Raptor Run

Ahhhh....I get what you're saying now. You were more looking for war stories. First and foremost, I disagree with your premise; there is no such thing as too many Tecates. Seriously though, I haven't been on a run that an air filter was the cause of a delay. An air filter isn't the type of...

    Baja Raptor Run

You asked. Those are the reasons. The biggest reason is why run oiled cloth? To gain 5hp and potentially let more dirt in your engine? No thanks. Unexpected things happen off-road. Silt beds are a great example. Some days there is just no wind, the dust hangs in the air, and it isn't feasible...

    Baja Raptor Run

Oiled air filters collect dirt in the oil. There is A LOT of dirt off-road. They are too difficult to clean on the trail. Just a bad idea. Bring a couple paper ones and spend 2 minutes swapping. I normally swap every 1 to 2 days, depending on time spent in someone's dust. That is tough to do...

    Any easy brake upgrades?

Generally speaking, tires are the limiting factor in stopping distance, even with brand new tread. If you have enough brake to engage ABS, no brake system improvements will improve stopping distance. Brake system upgrades generally help with fade; so you can maintain that stopping distance over...

    Installed 37's on Gen3 35 Raptor - no issues.

Awesome man. Fitment looks good. You should be very happy you ordered the 35 and put the 37's on. That is definitely the better way to go.

Forget about 37’s on a 35 truck , Who is going to be the first to stuff 39‘s on a 37 truck?

I've met quite a few people running 39s or 40s. Sort of opposite of what @Big Blue said, they are dedicated off-road rigs. In addition to glass/carbon, you generally have to shave the firewall and headlights, which basically ruins the headlights. You'll definitely want to change gearing as well...

GEN 2 Sdhq +2/+2 vs adv front fenders.

What @Jakenbake said. With 37s, my Gen1 with Fiberwerx +2/+2 with stock travel barely fit. Increased travel and offset are definitely going to want more than +2. I don't know about liners with those. I can tell you I'm using stock liners and they've been a bit of a nightmare. I ended up using...

    2021 Raptor Lift Kit

Personally, I think leveling collars aren't the best, but I think most people disagree. I think you'd be better off with new fenders to fit 37". The collars are probably more about looks and "leveling" the front to back. Probably off topic, but the Gen3 doesn't have leaves. The difference is...

    2021 Raptor Lift Kit

As has been stated, no one *really* knows what it will take yet, but I think you made the best decision. Both previous gen Raptors will run 37's with minor modifications and if you were planning to spend money on a lift kit, you'll be fine. Historically, simply collars on the front and...

Which model is the better off-roader?

I would have believed that coming from someone almost anywhere else in the US. Someone in SoCal should know better. Not all off-road is the same. Bring any stock Bronco out to Ocotillo Wells and my Gen1 on stock suspension will run circles around a Bronco and I'll have way more fun doing it. I...

Which model is the better off-roader?

35 is better for off-road. Minimal mods on all previous Raptors allow 37" tires without losing suspension travel; no reason to think it would be different for G3. I wouldn't give up any travel to fit tires that will most likely fit anyway. ...and what @CoronaRaptor said.

    When do you use Relays?

I can't explain it, but I've had to put 2 relays in after years of not having them. I tested EVERYTHING with a multi-meter (amperage draw, voltage, continuity, factory relay switching, fuses) and everything logically should have continued to work without a non factory relay, but one day my...
