Do you have an after market intake or filter? I think I see some silencing featured in the intake/filter.
My 2019 did have them.. Maybe it was just an early MY19 version.
I just picked up a new 2020 this week and while looking for something to do, I decided to remove the turbo silencers from the intake. I like hearing what the turbos are doing and the high schooler in me likes the turbo whine.
I pulled apart the intake track to find that there are no silencers...
I just picked up a brand new 2020 this week and just got it back from $800 in PPF today. Oh well.
as for your fundamental question, I’m also on the fence. Mods can also hurt reliability and warranty which adds to the cost of them.
I want to relocate the intercooler, add a winch bumper...
Same. I will probably go with Icon’s since they’re cheaper and adjustable. I rarely carry anything in the bed but I do have a few trips planned with significant payload so it would be nice to swap them out.
I disagree as well. My source says that the Raptor is a cash cow for Ford. He said the dealers make very little money on them and that Ford Corporate makes a ton of money. However, my source is just a dealership owner so he may not have the insight of someone at Ford HQ.
If they are in fact...
How much stiffer are the Geissers compared to stock? I offroad most weekends so I thinking these would be best.
How hard is it to adjust the Icon’s? Do you have to remove them to add a spring in?
I’m surprised that no one has done one. I bought my Raptor instead of a JLUR and use it as a big Jeep so a snorkel wouldn’t be bad.
Though with all the electronics, I would not be doing any deep river crossings. Just want some fresh air as I chase those Razor’s down!
I completely agree! I also get out to see the world a lot with my Raptor and go on adventures with my dad, which is really important to me.
I think you’re most likely right but that it’s also too early to say. I pinch pennies in other areas so that I can have a fully stocked garage.
Regardless of how we made our money, it’s hard to drop $70k into a truck, which will only decrease in value (though probably much better than many other vehicles).
I bought my 19’ Raptor at age 30, and kinda feel like it’s a terrible financial decision at this point in my life, especially...
Gotta respect those who built their own companies from scratch. I hope to do this some day but I’m not sure I have the perseverance.
I’m an aerospace engineer in the middle of a talent war. No strategic brilliance, just right place, right time. We’ve all been getting job offers back back and...
Why am I not surprised that your first mod (even before you got the truck!) is big gold rims. Shouldn’t you at least wait until you have the truck to start ruining its off road capability?
Let me guess, mod 2 will be a bunch of chrome and shiny parts? Then maybe lower it?
You are really lucky they left a note. I got hit last year without a notE and because it goes against my collision (not comprehensive), State Farm said my insurance could go up.
As others have said, most will just drive away. You are lucky you were hit by such an upstanding individual. Be...
I would think the best thing you can do is to park it out in the sun for a day. Covid doesn’t like high temps and that will get the entire car hot. Then hit the obvious spots with wipes.
Nice! I grew up in Loveland as well (LHS) and spent my teenage years dirt biking and rock crawling Kelly flats and seven mile. Really nice area. Hoping to move away from this Denver craziness someday to Fort Collins or Steamboat.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I have one more question. I’m really considering trading for a super duty powerstroke Tremor and adding a Carli suspension. This would give me plenty of payload margin and the option to tow. Do you guys think what you see in the video would be possible in...
It’s a new technique I’m developing where you open the left door to catch on trees and stuff to slow your travel. Don’t want to wear those brakes out too soon! o_O
You’re right, that’s what they are.
What?? You can adjust the trail cruise control?? I thought it had to always be at 60! So that’s why I kept catching air...
In all seriousness, I had it sat at 1MPH and it still does it. I also tried higher with no luck. If there’s a large rock or big shelf to go up on, it continues to...
We were camping at about 9000ft, so it was around there. There is a trail further up the canyon that I'm going to try soon that starts at 10,000ft.
The more I dissect the video, that route really does look better. I'll have to go back and look at the entire boulder field to understand why we...
I meant to add that to my list. Crawl control worked great going downhill over super rough terrain. Going up, it would come to a stop on a ledge and give too much power and fly up and over the ledge. I used two foot driving on the uphills to control this and trail control on the downs...
