Ram has to be a little nervous. They are at a huge weight disadvantage so if the Raptor has anything close to the same amount of HP, it will be faster/quicker.
Also, Ram seems to be pulling their HP number from the more optimistic side of things. I drove the 440HP power wagon and even with its...
It would be great to know what the limiting parameter was from Ford’s engineering analysis. Like others have speculated, I’m guessing it’s the rear leafs. They also must have some assumed weight distribution (maybe there is an ASME spec on this). The number is more sensitive to weight far behind...
Them - all those Raptors with their conformist grey skid plates. You will teach them that skid plates can also be dark grey!!! It will
Blow
Their
MINDS!!!!
...I’ll stop distracting
That’s exactly what I just received but I ordered in March. I would look around. You should be able to find one. I’ve seen way too many problems with the sunroofs to ever get one on a vehicle that sees the kind of offroad environments a Raptor sees.
I’m planning to do a major road trip next summer from CO ending near the Arctic Ocean in Alaska. My plan has been to have a removable brush guard fabricated for an ADD front bumper, possibly tying in to the shackle mounts plus a few extra points. Part of the problem is at one point, you’re about...
I broke the handle off mine in torsion. I was high centered on a boulder that my tire slid off of. I tried to lift to pack some rocks under there and the freaking connection to the jack broke!
My theory is that they designed it such that the handle would break prior to the actual jack breaking...
Oh man did I! He would be lucky if his windshield remained intact. We both are still on temp- plates so his non-rubicon gladiator was also new. I wanted to shift to 2WD to drive home the point but felt that Baja mode was more important. After that long behind him, I had lost all patience. Too...
Rave: I took my brand new 2020 into the dirty yesterday and it was amazing! I aired down to 32 front/28 rear as the Raptor Assault instructors recommended. We did buffalo pass near Steamboat springs Colorado, which is fairly rough but most cars can make it through given enough time. We were...
Again, the only hard problem is connecting to a low slung vehicle without a chain with some hooks. I would like to use a recovery strap connected to a short chain with hooks on it. That way there is some elasticity to prevent any jolts.
watching Matt’s YouTube channel is what gave me the idea...
I’ve been trying to solve this exact problem forever! Looks like an elegant solution. My plans are to run an intercooler just like the Cobb but maybe half as tall. Performance isn’t a huge concern but cooling and adding a place for a winch are.
‘You gonna do any air ducting?
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
I should add that my typical recoveries involve moving forward until the tow strap is tight and then idling forward until the vehicle it out. If it takes much more than that, I leave it to the pros.
I was digging through snow at midnight with...
I guess what I’m asking is, how do you connect a tow strap to a sedan/minivan/crossover? This is what I was gonna use a chain for. It would be two hooks on a chain to a recovery strap to my truck. This idea just came from watching videos of professionals.
Agreed. One of the cars I pulled out last year had just decided to stop and watch the stars.... in 10” of snow on the side of the road, in a FWD Honda, on the coldest night of the year (18F that night), outside of cell reception.
Just seems like I’m always struggling to find a way to connect...
This last winter was my first with a truck. I ended up pulling 3 cars and one Jeep out of ditches & snow banks here in CO which got me thinking, maybe I should have better gear to help these Texans out.
What do you guys carry? How do you attach to low slung cars?
I have a cheap tow strap...
I just got one of these and I really like it. Only downside is it took them like 6 weeks to deliver. It fits under the rear seat in the tiny cubby against the back of the cab. Holds everything I really need.

The dealership owner offered to help me into a 2021 if they come out with one since I only bought a 2020 last week given his word that they would not. Sigh
The owner of the dealership I’ve been working with took this article back to Ford who still claimed there will not be a 2021. He is suspicious as well.
Who else feels less than enthusiastic about modding their current Raptor because the upgrade may be occurring sooner than expected? ...
I agree with many that buying the beta models may be bad but if it comes out a year sooner, that’s still a year sooner that you might update (and...
My dealer said the same thing. But he also said that the Raptor is such a cash cow for ford corporate that they have a lot of incentive to get it out sooner than later.
