Lots of good advice here.
Assuming you already have the basics, I would get the engine setup (catch can, intercooler, intake, Cobb tuner), address cooling (tranny cooler, radiator) and lighting (A-pillar mount BD’s).
are you referring to the hydraulic kits for like $2k? How “hard” do you need to be on the truck before these are necessary? Will you feel it if/when you hit the factory bump stops?
I’m not sure what you’re saying.. the front hubs are always engaged? I don’t believe that is correct but I would have to check.
Traditional AWD systems have a center differential that sends power front and back. They don’t disengage when there is plenty of traction (like a Raptor does). They...
You sure about that? Typically letting things be partially engaged with clutches leads to overheating clutches. Just curious, where did you hear this?
I think the resistance is due to the front hubs being locked, not the transfer case being partially engaged. This means that the front axles...
I just got a quote for $1200 here in Denver.
Maybe they are charging me for installing the major hydraulic bump stop kit while only installing the extensions?
No first hand experience but here’s the thread that gave me the bad impression of Icon.
https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/icon-leaf-update.69942/
I have read about some issues with the Icons on this forum. Seems there is a problem with them (noise maybe?) and Icon would not respond to the customer. Of course this is second hand info so I will see if I can dig up the original thread.
i didn’t know this was an option. How do I see when power is going to the front axle?
It’s “like” AWD in the sense that you can run both on non slick conditions but that’s where the similarities end. There are two modes for sending power to the ground, RWD and 4WD. It was just designed to swap...
I’m beginning to think they swapped to more water susceptible connectors for the 2019 and when water gets in, it screws up the entire car. I know of at least two others (besides myself) with issues after going through a car wash. I think it’s hard to troubleshoot because it could be ANY...
What year is your truck?
I have also suffered from electrical issues after going through a car wash. They ended up replacing the “gateway module”. Seems that the connectors they use (at least in the 2019’s) are susceptible to water intrusion and the system is not fault tolerant.
Does it come with a way to mount the adaptive cruise control module out of the way of the ADD bumper?
Thanks for providing all the information! I think I’m gonna go with the Cobb stage 2.
Crazy how much is closed loop now. Once they start running combustion pressure sensors, everything will...
I keep hearing that perch collars will ruin the ride on the 2019’s but can’t find anything that says how. Some say because it will ride higher and top out the shocks but I have trouble seeing why this would only apply to the 2019’s.
Do the Eibach’s make the shock closer to “topping out”? What’s...
I don’t understand how springs help more than spacers with the live shocks. If springs add 1” of ride height and a spacer adds 1” of ride height, the shocks don’t know where that height is coming from..
I get that the spring rate will be different with springs vs. spacers but don’t understand...
the more I look at it, maybe Cobb is the way to go. Would be nice to get a tune, intake and IC through a single producer. Is this FMIC compatible with the ADD stealth fighter bumper?
I really like the idea of using Cobb software because then I can monitor all the important engine parameters and data log easily. Sounds like a great route to go.
Do you find that the off the shelf tunes are safe to run with modified engines even without Cobb parts? I am buying a front mount...
How do I get started engine tuning on my Raptor? I have tuned imports (with stand alone EMS’s) and my Evo using a Tactrix cable. What do I need to tune a Raptor? Does it have a wideband O2 sensor stock or do I need to buy one? What tools do I need to data log?
Seems like everyone on here is...

Turboa love cold air. An upgraded IC will help a lot. Air gets very hot when you compress it. Shove that through a nice big front mount intercooler and you’ll be on easy street!
the intercooler increases the air density and cooler air is less likely to induce knock/pre-detonation so...
I have the exact same noise and symptoms. Only when in gear. Noticed it while four wheeling a week or so ago. Sounds like something is literally contacting something else.
Did you ever figure yours out?
