It is that time again oil & filter change plus changing out the UCA uniballs they are smoked. Plus pass rear shackle is squeaking pretty bad so pull it and lube it all up so doing both just to make sure the driverside is next.
Also I did not use the bolts that came with it. I had gone and gotten high quality Stainless Steel 304 Hex Flange 5/16-18 3/4” that work great. Just FYI.
I would say yes it made it in my opinion doable. It’s a tight fit but with it down you could slightly move the diff around to get the cover up in there. Now with the diff down and new cover on I was able to get all but the top driver side cover bolt in and I started torquing them down staring...
Well Spicer front diff cover done and new pax side & driver side axels done as well axels were easy compared to the front diff cover but well worth it!
Ordered both the spicer and the ARB going to see but I think the Spicer’s drain is lower so will probably go with that one also no mod’s needed to put the Spicer on. Thanks for the link.
Ok so for those of you laughing at my post about changing out the front diff cover with the 9.75 FP cover go ahead and laugh wasn’t until after I pulled the cover did it dawn on me it’s a 8.8 10 bolt on the front called the company I ordered the cover from and they kept insisting the front Diff...
Wow you haven’t payed attention since you have been a member since 2020 that’s all anyone does around here is throw their .02 cents in the mix! Good luck trying to stop that. And by the way that’s just my .02 cents!
This is why I have always been a big fan of flushing fluids regularly maybe sooner than others and replacing the diff covers on these trucks with something we can drain. Sucks that this happened to you but I agree this could have been coming no matter if you had changed the fluids or not but I...
