I think AMB might actually be my favorite color based on pictures. I'm yet to see one in person and hope I don't because I might be tempted to do something stupid with my Iconic Silver
I love the way these trucks look in black, but after my last black vehicle I swore never again. It was a 911 that was garaged and it was impossible to keep it clean longer than a few days.
My comment was directed towards every hanging-by-a-thread ego in this thread (not that meme), but I'm sure he appreciates you running to his defense.
Don't worry little snowflake those big bad EVs won't come to hurt you and if they do our Raptors are enormous there's plenty of room to hide...
500+ miles of range is the magic number for me to consider switching to an EV as my primary vehicle and I don't even tow anything.
If I did, I reckon I'd need 700+ miles of time-zero range to feel comfortable.

Height can be found on that site. I wouldn't worry about the antenna as you can replace it with a stubby one unless you really need some serious long range AM/FM performance.
Woof, it seems I've struck a nerve. Don't let the existence of EVs threaten your masculinity this badly. Dainty little Priuses and Model 3's can coexist alongside our big bad baja trucks with their manly V8's and almost-as-manly TTV6's :)
Now if you'll excuse me I need to go figure out who is...
Like any other tool, they have a defined purpose that they excel at. Will I replace my Raptor with a Raptor EV or Lightning (aka what this thread is about)? Not a chance. Will I utilize my Model 3 for quick trips around town where I can fit in tiny ass parking spots and not get 8mpg? Yup.
You would have made all of these same arguments in favor of keeping horses instead of moving to cars. "You are ripping out existing things to drill for oil, build gas stations, etc. My horse's fuel grows on the side of the road!"
The US has minimal battery production now. That is changing...
I read both, but I find more truth in actual scientific papers, with data instead of editorialization, than I do in the news.
You seem to be confused. My "displayed ignorance of the issues with China" is me asking what you're rambling on about and how it relates to the topic. I've spent enough...
Spend some actual time researching, from objective sources, all of those things and you just might be surprised by what you find out. You might just realize there are strong incentives from the companies that stand to lose (e.g. oil companies) to spread FUD, misinformation, and outright lies to...
Should we get rid of all windows because millions of birds die every year from crashing into them? Have you bothered to read any papers about the affects of vehicle exhaust (and related emissions) on health, quality of life, and longevity? Do you have complaints about the solar panels sitting on...
I thought these would grow on me, but they haven't. I'm considering upgrading the wheels (still running 35's though) to something darker, lower weight, and a bit better looking.
None of the offerings from Method have caught my eye, but these wheels from Icon have. Curious if anyone is running...
Some interesting claims in here that I'd love to see backed up with any sort of evidence e.g. windmills/solar/evs not being green, things being "insane from a scientific perspective," and how this all relates to threats from China. Also interesting that you see cronyism/government control and a...
100% this. The strongest opinions about how awful EVs are always come from those that have never owned one and have little-to-no experience with them. It's almost like the mere existence of EVs is a personal attack on them. More EVs and Priuses on the road means cheaper gas to fill my thirsty...
Keep telling myself what? I have actual experience with EV ownership and a slew of friends, family, and co-workers (50+ if I had to estimate) that own EVs and have the same experience. Nobody is replacing their vehicles due to battery degradation in 5 years. As I said in the post you directly...
ICE vehicles catch fire at a higher proportional rate than EVs. It just doesn't get reported the way they do for EVs. Don't let media coverage (or lack thereof) fool you. That being said, a battery fire is typically much harder to put out.
We took delivery of our Model 3 in January 2018, so...
If you had to drive 100 miles round trip each day and you could buy an EV for $40k (go look up Model 3/Y pricing, they're not $70-80k) that could get you there and back roundtrip even in cold weather and hilly terrain with significant battery to spare, you still wouldn't buy an EV?
The amount...
Having owned a Model 3 (alongside a gas-powered vehicle) for 4-5 years now I can say that for anything within a 100 mile radius (aka 95%+ of my driving) it's not a PITA at all. Charge it at home off of the solar panels we already have for "free" and never have to worry about charging anywhere...
I wouldn't personally buy an EV truck/SUV unless it had 500+ miles of range to account for highway speeds, cold weather, climbing up grades, etc.. Not to mention the combination of highway + cold weather + climbing grades we experience many times a year driving to Tahoe to snowboard.
Our Model...
