I used a JL Audio Cleansweep and Signal Summing device in mine. Apparently the factory Sony unit varies the EQ through the volume range. With the JL unit you play a special calibration CD and the DSP in the JL Unit make the signal flat again. JL Audio has since replace the two units with an...
I have a BAK Roll-X I installed in 2013. It's been replaced twice by BAK. The current one has been on the truck in Arizona heat and sun and the vinyl is holding up fine.
I think this depends on how much you care about things like how worn the seats are. I would hands down buy the 37K mile one over a 101K one. Value wise must vehicles are worth less than half at 100K miles and near zero at 200K. At 100K miles the interior will start to get shabby, etc. Now if...
Directed at the original poster. No argument that beads can work. I am on a crusade to make people aware that most of their "balance" problems are actually due to switching from hub centric wheels to lug centric...joe
I have a Backflip Roll-X that has been replaced under warranty for glue failure twice. First time like 6 months after installing and the second time maybe 18 months later. I have glue failing again now about 18 months after the last replacement. I live in AZ and the black cover gets really...
Depends on where you live I think. Here in Arizona sunroofs let the sun in and most people here avoid the sun. They are standard on BMWs and we've rarely ever opened them.
Find a smooth piece of pavement and put white paper on the ground and drive over it. The contact patch of the tire will imprint on the paper. Trial and error will find the pressure that is just low enough to print the entire width of the tread. Higher and you get less patch, and lower the...
Lots of narrow parts around here with desert plant thorns. I bring leather gloves, and small and large pruning shears. That and I have a ton of desert pinstripes now on the flares and some on the paint. Oh well.
I don't know about center caps. I had Weld Racing wheels turned on a lathe to accept rings. Cost $50 a wheel for the lathe work and the rings installed.
But if you push the front wheels and tire out the tire runs closer to the inside of the fender on the firewall side. Wouldn't chains or cables make that problem even worse?
AZ Owner here and resident for 33 years. I prefer the covercraft. There is maybe 1" of gap on the sides but any larger and it would be hard to put in. I like how the covercraft folds flat. I've owned the roll up type (too bulky for me when rolled and they always want to stay curled reducing...
Is there any functional value to spacing wheels out or is it just cosmetic.
Factory wheels are hub centric which means the wheel has a round recess machined in the back that is perfectly centered and the hub has a matching size ridge that fits well into the factory wheels. This serves two...
32,000 miles, zero towing. No heavy sand offroad, and the highest trans temp I've observed is 230 while offroading hard. This was before the larger OEM cooler.
The oil pics didn't go through. The transmission fluid is what came in the truck from Ford. I was quite alarmed when I saw it. It doesn't smell at all. Did a bunch of googl'ing and lots of concensus that the Ford fluild turns brown very early and not to worry.
Thoughts.
Thanks to RPG for finally finding the larger OEM cooler. 5 min install. I took the advice of another poster and measured how much fluid the old cooler took and added that amount as I installed. About 2-3 ounces I guess.
I also included a pic of the original fluid and fresh. I was shocked to...
The bumper goes too low to the ground for me. I want a bit more ground clearance. On the plus side, I need the winch support and I like the idea if light weight since I already have a winch up there.
