The TFL video was much more informative. Seems like a solid upgrade to me, I actually like the new interior with how it's done up and the truck doesn't look hugely different than the Gen 2 on the exterior. Upgrades shocks, suspension, and material quality.
Pretty much everything I wished this...
Yeah, I can see that happened with it being more of a "you get what you bought" sort of truck. The amount of customization and modification to a huge number of components on the Gen2 is staggering; even the interior you can overhaul in several ways on your own.
Good point there on the rear...
I like the look of it actually. At first it looks a bit "old" or dated, but once you look at the front end a few more times you see its a cleaned up design in several key areas, while borrowing a bit of the sort of "old classic" design from the Gen 1. Curious to see what it looks like in person...
Fair point actually, I can't really argue that. It'll definitely be interesting to see anyhow. I think that'd be a good option for sure, though I have no clue how they'd be able to shave off more than a couple hundred pounds at most with all the aluminum etc. already. Hell, I purposely purchased...
Ah, I see no reason to be "upset" if they are offering another 3.5L HO EcoBoost, but I think Ford would be really missing the mark if they didn't have the option of a V8. I don't mind at all the power available in my 2020 Gen. 2 but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't prefer a V8.
That being...
I'm confused; are you complaining the front is too low in general, or the front is too low compared to the rear?
If the ladder, you need +1 Deavers or to get your rear leaf springs to run at stock height. Then you'll have plenty of adjustment available with the pre-load on the Fox Factory Live...
Thanks guys! Both answers are helpful for sure. I wonder if either or both, or none of the spring sets take into account the different weight distribution on the driver's side of the truck with the tank and driver sitting? Might sound like a ridiculous question, but I did see somewhere digging...
What's the best overall considering these factors:
Improving on-road comfort and reducing wheel hop
Being as close to stock ride height as possible
Will only ever have up to around 500lbs in the back at most typically
Longevity up north in cold & salty road environments
I like that the Icons...
Awesome, thanks! Definitely plan to put some some dampening material in the doors, as well as the back wall in combination with this trick. Probably go for the 1/16th tubing it sounds like though your 3/16 might provide a superior seal and probably after time it would work itself in a bit I'd...
Thanks, no that makes perfect sense! Did you try to re-connect the seam at all with glue after cutting, or did you just leave it? Was there any gap created by having tubing inside of it? Apologies for all the questions lol seems like a great mod and I've noticed wind noise in my truck too, just...
How did you do the weather stripping mod? It looks like my weather stripping on my 2020 has a seam. I guess you had to cut it, and take the weather stripping from the frame? The stripping on the doors themselves isn't hollow on mine.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they can eek out with the 5.2L in terms of HP to fuel economy balance. I'm 100% in for the V8 I just hope they don't stop to care at all about fuel economy. I still think something in the mid 600's for horsepower and torque would be perfect; leaving a V6 option...
Stock is Starbucks/mall crawler bullshit? lol you must love having your nut sack jammed up hard into your ass. Unless you use this thing 80% or more for serious off-roading like race conditions with jumps, that's a bit much :D Enjoyed the laugh though
Has anyone had this happen, and/or know how to fix it?
I've updated my Sync 3 system to the latest update, but even using the WiFi update it just keeps attempting to re-install the same version (v3.4.20282) over and over, despite being successfully installed.
Annoying to say the least. I've...
Often times, a well designed NA V8 (and especially if it has cylinder deactivation) in the 5.0 - 6.0L category will obtain better fuel economy with similar output numbers to this 3.5L EcoBoost without the added complexity of turbo chargers, and often times be more durable. These EcoBoost engines...
Hard tri-fold tonneau cover
Rear wheel liners / spray
Underbody coating like POR15 or something else for rust protection if in northern climate
SPC Caster/Camber Kit
Fog light kit to fill the front bumper
Better quality oil like Amsoil Signature Series 5W30
Ford Performance Iridium plugs gapped...
In my opinion, Ford (and especially depending on your dealer) are a bunch of low-life crooks. They will try not to honor warranty claims wherever they can get away with it. You're better off doing the work yourself, unless you can clearly prove the issue. In which case, sometimes you're still...
How do the Icon leaf springs compare to the Deavers? Looking for a bit more plush on-road experience, and my off-roading is mostly mid speed/mild off-roading for the most part.
I hope you guys are right! With the quality of the shocks it seems odd it’d not be more comfortable on the road. Both my wife and I feel sick after an hour in the truck. I figured that would be a large part of the active suspension setup for on-road use being a good combination of comfort and...
@LeadFootLarry not that I can see no. That would be great though ... also would be great to be able to adjust the default shock stiffness through ForScan like adjusting the damper rate in Normal vs. Sport mode etc.
After I have the ride height sensor replaced, and properly calibrated if that...
You guys are forgetting that Ford has shit quality :) I thought RAM was bad when I purchased a 2020 RAM Limited, but then I bought this 2020 Raptor and holy **** is this thing a load of cheap junk. Not sure why RAM has any worse of a reputation for quality, my experience with the latest year...
Thanks guys, and I think you're bang on with the IWE's. Done a bunch of digging over the last few days, and found a video up on YouTube of a guy with the same noise driving. The IWE system seems like a piece of crap; I found some aftermarket parts that eliminate the IWE system and uses only the...
Any way to make this actually work, or is it just lighting up the row of letters? Ford ... lazy cost cutters with shit poor QC so far judging based on the experience with my new 2020
