Examiner article on Raptor . Body lift /Perch adj

Maybe it's unlikey but it certainly isn't unlikely. Those accelerometer-driven stability control systems *might* rely on knowing the dimensions of a vehicle such that they might actually be able to calculate the appropriate forces and more importantly *moments* to create in order to stabilize...

GM Releases Teaser Picture of Next Chevrolet Colorado

BTW, think that's the world truck...which always look fairly minivan-esque. Look at the equivalent new not-sold-here Ranger for comparison. South America and Europe seem to like rounded over car-styled pickups. Actually like the look of the current Colorado. Shame it costs as much as the...

    SYNC Alternate pairing codes

Android? Try tapping on the "SYNC" item that shows "paired but not connected". Think the Galaxy Nexus did this, but I did pair it with the 6-digit code. SYNC seems a bit more finicky about pairing and seems to have a pretty short time-out.

    2012 Front camera in action

I'd love to have a front camera for parking, BECAUSE I have such a large vehicle. I'd rather be a perfect 2" from an obstacle at the end of a parking spot every time than the 8" or so I tend to leave to be safe. Less truck hanging out is a good thing. That said, it's a hell of a lot easier...

Greenies... Put this in your pipe

This is why I drive I pickup truck. Haven't you heard, sport-utility vehicles are bad for the environment?

Greenies... Put this in your pipe

Lot of things significantly disgust me about the "green" movement. I understand and believe climate change to be occurring, but I can't stand the "green" ideology. I'm sick of hearing about Prius owners who commute 200 miles per day claim to be saving the world while I work at home and drive...

EcoBoost Raptor coming in 2013?? Take a look...

VERY interesting indeed. It does look taller, but I can see that being entirely due to the lack of the front skid plate. If they're testing a new motor, I'm sure they would of even gone out of their way to slap 6.2L badges on it. Fraking awesome find!

I don't know about you guys, but I bought mine purely to clean our dirty Southern California air.

    6.2 Blown Motor????

kglesq (brother who owns a identical Raptor to mine) called Ford customer service when his defective PCM failed at about 3000 miles. They gave him their top-of-the line extended warranty and upgraded his shitty econobox loaner to a Dodge pickup. If he didn't do anything wrong to the truck...

There is more then one way to cause sever damage to a Raptor frame

Sorry to hear it, any pics of the damage to the old frame? Did the main rails hold up reasonably well?

    Craigslist find

Sure as heck wouldn't with a tiny discount versus new. But there are a ton of street-queen Raptors out there that have never seen dirt, and it should be pretty evident that it hasn't been abused from a thorough inspection. Hell, mine has only been on local trails and hasn't even completely...

what is the best nanny setup for driving on snow covered streets

Actually just thought of one more (dumb) question...if you're in 4wd, nannies on, and abruptly stomp the throttle on a pretty slick surface (such that most wheels are spinning at 30mph and the truck is moving 10mph), and then hit the brakes to stop quickly, does the truck's ABS figure out that...

what is the best nanny setup for driving on snow covered streets

Yeah, *really* need to do that, of course in socal it rains so rarely and the place is generally so busy that you have to make a good effort to find an unpopulated/safe playground on the right day. As you can see, we in socal have to deal with some real winter challenges too! :ROFLJest:

what is the best nanny setup for driving on snow covered streets

I totally agree on the playing-with-it-in-a-snowy-parking-lot routine. Find a good location when it's DRY that you know is free of obstructions (curbs, parking stops, lightpoles, other fun hidden things) and that you can get some good speed in with a big safety margin. When I first moved to...

    Raptor in Forza 4

Nothing quite like a Raptor on a road course. Right up there with an F458 in Baja, or maybe a sailplane on the moon.

    My ford raptor

Very nice, I'm guessing you're the first member here in China! Americans won't like the the "Raptor" sticker on the hood and the safety reflective sticker on the bed, but otherwise it looks great!

For 2011 owners with perch mod done, is the Off-Road Productivity Screen accurate?

I don't have the perch mod done, but my sensor seems to be inaccurate at freeway speed. Always seems to show 3-5* of descent at 70+ mph, and I don't think the truck squats down at speed.

    Vortec 6200 Z71 vs Raptor?

Dad has a 6.2 Denali pickup (AWD). Have driven his truck plenty of times, think he'd win due to weight (Denali is 5400lb, Raptor is 6200lb). Power is roughly the same, but Raptor gearing is shorter. I have a sneaking suspicion mine would be a bit quicker off road though...i.e., in the...

    sct tuner and Mac

Have never tried using Parallels, but in VirtualBox you have to specifically associate the USB device with the virtual machine. I was able to program my old GM truck using EFILive with this setup, and EFILive had its own USB drivers.

    sct tuner and Mac

If it behaves as a USB attached storage device (like a thumb drive/USB hard disk) it'll be no problem. If it actually has Windows software, you'll need to get a copy of Windows and virtualization software. Stuff like Virtualbox (http://virtualbox.org) will let Windows software take complete...

    Tsb 11-7-20 ?

Thanks everyone, really need to get mine in for this (and the driveshaft!) I literally turn those things on as a procedure every time I put it in drive right now. :) The update prevents the ECM (engine control module) from setting incorrect diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Normally a DTC...
