SOLUTION:
So it was incredibly frustrating to get here but Retrax can and will ship you the Pro locking mechanism for free if you have this issue…and if you intelligently bitch enough. The Pro latches on both sides, the One is only on the drivers side.
First off, Retrax is 100% aware this is a...
Retrax gave a kind of BS response this morning that I needed to install the rails closer together, because them not being tight is what allows the passenger side to retract. Sent them another video which I included in the link in the original post for anyone interested.
Mine are installed...
Yea I've read on some F150 posts that that's the same response, already planning to get rid of it.
"Yea we know the design doesn't meet even our own standards, so we'll let you pay for the more expensive version" is not an acceptable response for me.
Pro Eagle's are top notch. I've only used mine on my truck for maintenance but I did use it in swingarm city to help a guy who tried to jump his Cayenne. RIP literally everything in the front end.

I'll let you know. Planning to talk to them tomorrow.
Even if the ONE doesn't come with locking mechanisms on both sides, this amount of movement isn't acceptable in my book...especially since the movement definitely got worse over time. I understand and expect some water to seep through...
Curious if anyone who has a BAK Revolver X4S, or I guess the X4 would be exactly the same as well who could check a quick dimension for me?
Question 1: How far up the bed can you roll it until the "roll" is 4" tall?
Question 2: Is it possible to slide it a little bit towards the cab instead of...
Passenger side rear door jamb there is a rubber grommet already in place. It's maybe a foot up where the body starts being shaped around the wheel well. If you take off the trim starting with the sill you'll find it real easy. Take your time with the C pillar trim as there's an airbag in there.
@CTK59 thanks. I'm missing all of the passenger side mechanism and anything tying the two together. Pretty frustrating something so substantial could be missed. More-so that throughout the very detailed troubleshooting with them that nobody at Retrax thought to have me check the mechanisms...
I now see that there is a silver channel underneath that appears to be there to house whatever mechanism ties the driver side lock to the passenger side latch. whatever goes in there is completely empty along with the passenger side latch like they just missed it in manufacturing.
It’s a One XR. So there’s only a button/lock on the driver side. But looking at @nikhsub1 ’s pics it appears there’s supposed to be a locking mechanism on the passenger side that’s triggered by using the driver side.
Wtf. Kinda frustrating Retrax didn’t ask the right questions to realize this first. I just swapped both the rails today and apparently that wasn’t necessary.
If you have a min could you take a few more pics of the underside going all the way across? Curious just how much hardware I’m missing...
Yea that’s exactly what’s happening, but it shouldn’t be sucking in 3/4” which is enough to create a wide open gap for water to get in. The driver side only has like 1/4” play tops but that at least stays sealed.
Hey everyone. Curious if anyones had a similar issue with a Retrax. I have reached out to customer support but figured I’d try here too.
Basically the passenger side of mine retracts into the canister after a short drive about 3/4” but the driver side stays nice and tight. Here’s two videos...
I agree but what I struggle with is nobody knowing what that antenna truly does. I’m not going to get rid of it and cap unless there’s some documentation somewhere of all that it services.
There's no way to mount anything backwards, what he did in that pic is the only way if the antenna remains in tact.
I guess the better question I could pose to everyone is what kind of connection is the shark fin antenna? If it's something standard I should be able to just get any flatter...
That's why I'm trying to get a clear answer on what it does. I have never used XM and never will. I also have no use for WiFi in my truck. Trying to understand if there's any other features that go through that antenna.
Hey all, long time no see!! Haven’t been here in a while but could use some help. I’m going to be getting a Prinsu roof rack. Called Prinsu because it says it's only thru 2018s and they said this is because of the shark fin antenna on 19s/20s. I am 100% set on the Prinsu for a multitude of...
Anyone had this happen before and can anyone confirm I shouldn’t really care about it? Or advise if there’s something I should look at?
I’m out in UT right now and this is the third time in 2 weeks it’s happened. When I have cruise control on 80+ and the truck let’s off the accelerator at the...
